Vehicle Detail
Here for auction is a Cool old 1965 Corvair that has been converted to a mid engine V8 with a 1965 283 small block chevy. The conversion was done very cleanly and the quality of the work is very nice using the stock Corvair transaxle. The car its self is a very clean and solid Corvair. Original southern california car with little to no rust. No rot anywhere just some surface rust. The 283 has power pack heads, Aluminum intake and a Holly 4 barrel and the motor makes very very good power for a 283. Definetly not a stocker but it is a mild motor and has a stock cam so it idles smooth and runs very smooth. I did not build the car but if I had to guess I would say that the motor and the car have very few miles on them since it was built. This car would make an excellent SCCA car. The car drives very balanced and has gobbs of tourque from the 283. You can leave it in 3rd and roll on the throttle as low as 20 mph and it sets you in the seat. The stock trans shifts smooth but it does shift like a Corvair. It has a new clutch in it that was put in less then 50 miles ago. The car itself is a very nice street car. Not a show winner but presentable. The paint is descent. Nice and shiny but does have some orange peel. The car is nice and straight to. The interior is driver quality. The carpet is new and the seats are good except for a rip in the drivers seat. The dash and door panels are in very nice shape and best of all everything in the car works except for the radio. The turn signals, horn, lights and gauges all work. All in all this is a very very fun little Corvair. Again shes not a show car but looks good and is an absolute blast to drive. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will assist in anyway I can in helping with shipping but payment and arrangments will be handled by the buyer. Payment will be by Cash, Cashiers Check, Bank Check or wire transfer. I will accept a personal check but the car cannot be picked up for 10 days after I deposit it to make sure it clears.
