Here is a real rarity, an ALL original 1974 Monte. Never ever molested or modified in ANY way !! Factory air car. Still factory paint, still has whitewalls and hubcaps, still has a 2 barrel carb. and still single exhaust. Original GM logo rubber mats and very 70's style blue window tint. Miles are actual, never rolled over. There are a lot of positives with this Monte and some negatives as well. The Good: very straight metal, interior is pretty nice, seats are great except for missing seat belt guides. No tears, burns, stains or wear issues. Door panels need next to nothing. Headliner perfect. Dash itself very nice as well. Glass all OK, windows all go up?down easy. Bumper fillers are perfect. Bumpers are very very nice. Frame, floor pans are rust free as car was undercoated when new. NO rot issues !! Trunk has original spackle paint so what you see is what you get. Trunk floor very very solid, brown color in trunk pics is stains from bad trunk seal. New tires. Hubcaps very nice. Car 100% starts/runs/drives excellent. Yes, it can easily be driven home !! The bad: Paint very thin and car needs paint. Vinyl top has a few bubbles under it in front but top itself very nice. Weatherstripping is dryed out and needs complete replacement, Dash pad has 2 cracks near speaker. Carpet is faded. There are 5 rust spots on car, all on body only and all caused by moisture/crud being trapped by mouldings. All are on flat areas and are real EZ fixes. 1 is bondoable, 4 should have patches. Close-up pics of all are in ad. A/C compressor is frozen up and will need replacement. ($75 bucks at junkyard). All original under hood is 100% complete/untouched but is dingy and needs full detail. Overall this a great opportunity to get an all original Monte at a great price, drive now, restore as time and money allow and not get buried in it !! I have tried real hard to describe the car faithfully, i have a 100% feedback rating and plan on keeping it. I welcome and encourage inspections of the car before auction ends.
