Thousands of dollars were spent on paint and body work to make this GMC straight and solid. You can see by the paperwork that is was done right at a high cost. The Pantone Orange paint is nice and the metallic clear coat really makes this truck shine. All glass and trim was removed for paint and new rubber seals were installed throughout when put back together. New reproduction lenses and other parts were used whenever possible. The chrome is still original and in good condition for being 45 years old. It is not dented or damaged anywhere but does have some slight aging. Even the original AAA sticker is on the back bumper as well as a Mexican travel decal from 1972! Talk about a truck with character! The interior is gorgeous. All upper surfaces were prepped and painted with the same quality as the exterior. The gatorhyde material that covers the floors looks fantastic and is a very durable finish for years to come. All gauges work nicely and A/C blows ice cold and will easily keep the passengers cool. The only thing not working is the original radio, but this truck is just asking for a high end sound system. You can see that many parts were replaced with new reproductions like all the door rubbers, arm rests and door sill plates. Mechanically, this GMC runs GREAT! As I said before this truck is equipped with the bulletproof 305ci GMC V6 was their workhorse across the GMC lineup. It puts out only about 150hp but is a torque monster to move around this tank. The drive train was gone through and tuned up about 3 years ago including new seals, rebuilt carb, water pump, fuel pump, all new hoses and belts, and just abut everything else. Transmission was checked and resealed, an differentials and transfer case were checked. This truck is 100% roadworthy and was driven thousands of miles before the current owner lost interest. The other really cool thing about this truck is its excellent documentation of its history as well as its restoration. Tons of paperwork as well as restoration photos and even the original owners manual are included. There are also several sets of keys included. All in all, this is one of the cleanest and nicely restored trucks that I have had the privilege of being associated with.
