First off, I want to thank everyone for all your intrest and all the emails. I guess my reserve was a little high, so I've lowered it to 2400.00, or just take the plunge and do the buy it now for an extra hundred, and end all the nail biting sessions. You won't be sorry! I really don't know what else I can say that I haven't said already about the bike except this, I did some checking, and the other two little seals that I mentioned, plus the reflectors, tool kit and seat strap can all be still purchased at www.bikebandit.com . I did buy alot of my parts off of them, and they are super fast in shipping items. the two seals were a total of 7 dollars and some odd cents, and I don't remember the prices on the other items. anyway, If anyone wants to take it to the limit, and bring it back any closer than what I've done, they can still add the little items if they so choose for very little expence. Please don't ask me to go behind ebays back and try to do any deals outside of ebay. I have a 100 feedback, and good standings with them and everyone I've delt with, so I want to keep a clean slate. Hope you understand. Thanks again, and good luck with your bids! IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR THAT SPECIAL BIKE TO TAKE YOU BACK TO YOUR ROOTS, OR JUST LOVE OLDSCHOOL MACHINES, THIS IS THE BIKE FOR YOU! I BOUGHT THIS BIKE IN CLEVELAND LAST FALL, AND SPENT ALL WINTER ON THE RESTORE. HERE IS PRETTY MUCH THE STORY, WHEN I BOUGHT THE BIKE, THE OWNER SHOWED ME A SLIP FROM A LOCAL HONDA SHOP THAT HAD REPLACED THE CAM CHAIN, AND GUIDES, AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT ALL ELSE. I REMEMBER THE TOTAL REPAIR WITH LABOR WAS OVER $600.00. HERE'S WHAT ALL I DID AND REPLACED ON THE BIKE: NEW O-RING CHAIN, AND SPROCKETS, NEW CHAIN SLIDER, ON SWINGARM NEW REAR BRAKE SHOES NEW CLUTCH CABLE NEW THROTTLE CABLE NEW TIRES NEW HEADLIGHT NEW FRONT TURN SIGNAL NEW FRONT SPROCKET SEAL NEW SHIFT SHAFT SEAL ALL FRESH PAINT ON FRAME AND MOTOR, (DONE BY PROFESSIONAL PAINTER) NEW DECALS NEW BATTERY NEW SEAT COVER (DONE BY A PRO AT A UPHOLSTERY SHOP) I DID USE B.B.'S WITH SOME SOLVANTS TO REMOVE A LITTLE BIT OF RUST ON THE INSIDE BOTTOM OF THE TANK, AND I TORE THE CARBS APART AND CLEANED THEM OUT. THE BIKE RUNS GREAT AND IS EASY ON GAS. I HAVEN'T REALLY CHECKED IT EXACTLY, BUT IT'S GOTTA BE AROUND THE 50 MPG RANGE. I'VE PUT ABOUT 300 MILES ON IT SINCE I FINISHED THE RESTORE, AND IT'S A BLAST TO RIDE. I KEPT IT ON THE BLACKTOP, CAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO CHANCE GETTING IT SCUFFED UP DOING THE OFF-ROAD THING. IT WILL EASILY DO 70 MPH IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO GO THAT FAST. I'VE TAKEN A BUNCH OF SHOTS WHILE I HAD THE BIKE APART, IF YOU'D LIKE TO SEE ANY OF THEM, JUST EMAIL ME AT THEFRYES2@VERIZON.NET AND I'LL BE HAPPY TO SEND THEM TO YOU. I HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME RESTORING THIS BIKE LAST WINTER THAT I WANT TO DO ANOTHER ONE STARTING THIS FALL SO I NEED THE ROOM. I DID CHANGE THE OIL AND PUT A NEW FILTER IN BEFORE I FIRED IT UP. I'M NOT SURE HOW LONG THAT IT SAT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT, BUT AFTER I FINISHED GETTING IT BACK TOGETHER, IT STARTED ON THE 4TH KICK, WHICH REALLY SURPIZED ME. THE BIKE LOOKS LIKE A MILLION BUCKS, AND I REALLY DON'T THINK THAT YOU'D EVER FIND A NICER 1983 XL600R ANYWHERE. CLUTCH AND TRANNY ALL WORK FINE, NO PROBLEMS GETTING IT INTO GEAR, OR NO PROBLEMS JUMPING OUT OF ANY GEARS. THERE'S ONLY TWO LITTLE THINGS THAT KEEP IT FROM BEING PERFECT, AND THEY'RE REALLY NOT AN ISSUE, BUT THE CHOKE LEVER UP ON THE BAR IS JUST A STUB, INSTED OF A LONGER LEVER, BUT IT'S STILL EASY TO PULL THE CHOKE ON. THE OTHER IS AFTER RIDING IT FOR A WHILE, WHEN YOU PARK IT, IT IS STILL DRIPPING A COUPLE DROPS OF OIL. I THOUGHT THE SEALS THAT I REPLACED WERE THE PROBLEM, BUT I GUESS NOT. IT MUST BE ONE OF THE SEALS ON THE OTHER SIDE, (KICKSTART, OR COMPRESSION ARM SEAL). ANYWAY, IT'S NOT POURING OUT OR ANYTHING, IT'S ONLY A COUPLE DRIPS, AND I MEAN ONLY A COUPLE. MOST FOLKS PROBABLY WOULDN'T EVEN HAVE MENTIONED IT, BUT I WANT TO BE HONEST, AND WANT THE BUYER TO KNOW THE WHOLE STORY. EXCEPT FOR THE PIC OF IT ON MY PORCH, ALL OF THE PICS WERE TAKEN YESTERDAY, 7/4/11 , AND NOT BEFORE I STARTED RIDING IT, SO WHAT YOU SEE IS EXACTLY THE WAY IT NOW IS. I WILL ALSO INCLUDE AND EXTRA HEADLIGHT BULB, AND ANOTHER NEW THROTTLE CABLE. BIKE HAS CURRENT PA. INSPECTION, AND ALL LIGHTS, KILL SWITCH, AND HORN WORK AS THEY SHOULD.
