Vehicle Detail
Truck was a daily driver used mostly on maintained roads and driven responsibly off road during hunting season until Dec of 2004 when a work injury forced it to become garaged except for an occasional drive to keep it lubed up and get the oil changed. It is the original Toyota red with a grey cloth bench seat, non smoker and I am the 2nd owner. It has a long list of modifications; There is a 6 inch Tuff Country suspension lift, plus I added a Chevy rear leaf spring and cranked up the front torsion bars for about 8 inches of susp lift, then I put in a 3 inch body lift, and extended both shifting levers and replaced the factory shift boots with custom grey leather boots. It sits on 35 inch BFG Mud terrains, mounted on 15 inch aluminum alloys. Both differentials were regeared with 5.29 gears by Randy's Ring and Pnion in Washington, which puts the shifting ratio back to stock settings and makes the speedometer correct. There is a single shock steering stablizer by Skyjacker and dual front shocks, made by Rancho, sold by Downey. The engine is a 22r EFI with a shaved head and has the heavy duty timing chain set with a metal guide, Downey, ceramic coated header and full length welded stainless steel 2 and 1/4 exhaust,[ no cat converter, the original system rusted and fell off on a hunting trip] The airbox has been modified to block water from entring behind the headlight, to fit a Kand N filter, and tuned for more air flow. The rear carrier came from a late 80's straight axle front end and the gears are for a v6, the increased power and tire size kept breaking the 4cyl gears. The truck averages 19 mpg on regular gas during normal driving. There are black extended Bushwacker fender flares and custom cut mud flaps that make it legal in most states, you may have to modify again depending on where you live. There is a generic black bedliner and a large aluminum diamond plate truck box, complete with the original bottle jack and a high-lift jack and generic 35 inch spare mounted on a stock steel wheel that managed to get me out of all my predicaments safely;] The original front valance rubbed on the tires, so it was replaced with a custom built mirrored stainless steel one, with holes for mounting the plates. The stock front bumper was replaced with a dual tube w/ hood bar Smittybuilt bumper, powder coated to look like polished aluminum. The skid plate is also a custom made 3/8 inch steel plate, bent and drilled to fit then powder coated to match bumper, as were the factory steel hook and loops for pulling, etc. were powder coated as well. Even the small, single-foot steps, bolted just below the cab for ground clearance are polished aluminum, so the whole truck matches well. There is a removeable Maxrad antenna mounted on the hood vent, just in front of the driver side wiper for the 40 chanel Uniden Pro 510xl cb radio that rests underneath an Alpine cd, mp3 radio,[ has mini plug with cable for aux audio device]. Each door has pro-installed mids w/ grey carpet to match interior. Behind the seat is a custom built fiberglass box that holds the 2 10 inch subs, a large cap and an Alpine V12 amp to complete the sound system,[ very loud, and clean, built by Aspen Sound in North Idaho]. Has tinted rear sliding window, a dry cell Yellow-top battery. I have looked everywhere to find a comparable truck with just a few of the mods that is in good shape in order to find a fair resale price and had no luck. I only have these few pictures to upload right now, because my desktop crashed and the truck is in storage. I will try to add more when I can get a friend come help. Please be patient for more pix and don't be afraid to ask questions. The truck is clean, well-maintained and has always been serviced by myself or a Factory approved shop, I even used Toyota-red antifreeze and switched both diffs and the transfer-case to synthetic a few years back, just to keep it running smooth and clean. The rear bumper is the factory chrome bumper with a 2 inch receiver bolted on and has an 8 inch drop stinger with a 1 7/8 in ball. The factory tailights were replaced with aftermarket clear lenses w/ carbon fiber trim, the factory headlightswere replaced with aftermarket clear housings and super bright H4 lightsand small blue bulbs that are activated by asmall black rocker switch under the CB that also turns on small red lights behind the dash vents. Iwill try to get some pix uploaded ASAP.
