HISTORIC BOSS SHINODA FACTS!!! Lawrence Kiyoshi (Larry) Shinoda (March 25, 1930 - November 13, 1997) was a noted automotive designer who was best known for his work on the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang. In 1968 Henry Ford II hired former GM executive, Bunkie Knudsen, to be president of Ford. Knudsen recruited Shinoda to come to Ford in hopes of improving the styling and sales of Ford's lineup. Shinoda's first project at Ford was a high-performance Mustang known as the Boss 302 Mustang. Reportedly Shinoda chose the name "Boss" as a homage to Knudsen. He led design for the Mustang models for 1970-1973 as well, but when Knudsen was fired from Ford late in 1969 Shinoda left as well. Shinoda began to have to kidney problems in 1996, yet continued to be an active designer. Before the transplant took place he died in 1997 at his home in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan of heart failure at age 67. His daughter, Karen, formed Team Shinoda (now Shinoda Performance Vehicles) a tuner and performance parts company with Jim Klock. SUMMARY!!! This isn't an assembly line build where you can drive to any major city and find someone else driving the same car. This car is number TS-BOS-06-002, number 001 was a developmental car which makes this the first car produced for general sale. This was the only car sold in 2006 in this color combination in this level of trim. Truly a rare find... In true American fashion, the power plant is the heart and soul of this rare beast. Currently, with 707 actual asphalt blazing REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER tuned on 100 octane, this car is in a league of its own and capable of way more shall you feel the need to be power greedy. The FULLY BUILT FORGED TWIN-TURBO ENGINE assembly was constructed by Jim Napier @ Turbo Horsepower.com, one of the upper echelon originators of twin-turbo mustang builds of which nearly everyone else copied. Turbo Horsepower.com is the Power Development provider for Boss Shinoda and with their expertise you get an incredibly sound and efficient high horsepower system. In fact, this car has been tuned as high as 753 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER in Florida at sea level with C16 race gas in it and it still wasn't maxed out! You can ask Jim himself, the car has way more in it. Due to the fact that most people generally only have 100 octane fuel at their disposal and the fact that there are only two boost settings, we opted to have the high boost tune at a very conservative power level with more readily available fuel types. On the 91 octane tune with the low boost grandma tune the car still makes 472 rear wheel horsepower and 475 torque, no slouch. The twin-turbo system and motor on this car are built to accommodate 1000 horsepower if you push the envelope. To us that isn't realistic for a daily driven set-up street car and at 80mph on our streets in Vegas this car will light the tires up as it is, we think anymore power would be overkill to be honest. When the boost hits on this car it is an ABSOLUTE MONSTER! It does require some driving skill to maintain control of the car but not an excessive amount as we've seen with other cars. The suspension of this car was very carefully hand selected using the finest materials for each section to make for the safest power transfer possible of a street car. If you want the highest horsepower car available to go drag racing then I'd suggest buying a drag car, this car is just way to nice to go beat up on. This car has never been to a drag strip, has never had any race sticky tires mounted on it and has never been raced. It was owned by an elderly man who drove the car extremely conservatively on low boost and while under our care we've only given it full throttle through a gear at a time without power shifting and we've never made it through more than two gears at a time giving it full gas. The car is has a ton of power and must be respected. On low boost we went through the gears and the car ran extremely healthy and 472 RWHP feels plenty for daily use. Although you can push a button and have 707 RWHP on tap at the rear wheels shall you feel the need to shred the rear tires through 4 gears! I'm not exactly sure how fast this car will go but I'm told with the current power level and the upgraded 6-speed manual gearbox that this car should go close to the low 200 MPH range and based on other power levels of other cars, the car should run 10's in the quarter all day! Again, the car is just way to nice for us to push it to those limits under those pretenses without being the ultimate owner. God bless you if you choose to do so, the car is ready... are you? On the outside of this car you'll immediately notice the historic Boss Shinoda look from 1969 with the Optional Boss Shinoda Reflective Vibe Stripes, Boss Shinoda Front & Rear Spoilers in Black, vintage Raceline 20" Staggered Wheels and that unmistakable Boss Shinoda Rear Window Louver. Combined, these features catapult this car into a truly classic looking modern beast! Larry Shinoda was a genius at producing the best designs of cars and the carried over traditional appearance features of this car make it instantly recognizable amongst true Ford fanatics. The Red Fire Metallic Paint on this car is an excellent color for such an exotic car as this. With only 490 miles on the car, you can rest assured that the condition is every bit as nice as what you would expect for such a scarcely driven low mileage stead. We have exclusively inspected the paint and see absolutely no damage anywhere. In fact, the paint is as slick as glass and is ready to be shown off at a car show near you. Even the underneath side of the car is super clean. The car was never driven in bad weather, which is obvious when you see it and there is no undercoating on the bottom that could hide signs of potential problems. From any angle this car is a crowd pleaser in exceptional condition. This is probably the lowest mileage 2006 on the market. Just so happens it's also the rarest at the same time! The interior of this car is truly the icing on the cake. Adding to an already class leading and well appointed interior is Boss Shinoda's rendition of the old school theme by adding a plush Boss Shinoda Two-Tone Red/Black Seat Package. You couldn't have picked a better layout to complete the car any better. The inside as the outside has been extremely well kept and with 490 miles on the car it's obvious that it hasn't had enough time spent in it to show wear. This is also a non-smokers car, never has it been smoked in. You won't find a gaudy cockpit filled with gauges making the car appear like a space shuttle, the idea is simplicity. The boost levels are already predetermined and locked down so there's no need to fiddle with boost knobs and see how high you can spike the gauge. The car is professionally tuned and should be left alone. You'll notice the Official Boss Shinoda dash applique signifying its place at the top level of availability and the car is registered under that number in Shinoda's Registry. The front seat headrests also show the build number and in fact, we have two sets of seat covers for future emergencies. The prior owner was a car freak and you can see how money was not a limiting factor in purchasing this car. No other word describes this car better than exclusive. This car belongs in a museum and to a collector. Ford fanatics, Mustang aficionados and or anyone with a super high level of taste can appreciate the rare excitement that this car embodies. We have conducted a Full Service and Safety Inspection of this car to ensure it is 100% ready and safe for the next lucky owner. The car was constructed a few years ago and hasn't been driven much at all with such low miles. Being car guys ourselves we would never sell a car of this caliber without going completely through the car to ensure everything is today just as it was when it was built. Fortunately for us, one of the worlds best Mustang tuners is right in our backyard out at Shelby American Motorsports at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. We had the car completely gone through by highly trained and very skilled mechanics to ensure there were no mechanical problems first. After it was determined that everything was perfect we had them fully service the car with the following; Fresh Synthetic Oil Change New Oil Filter New Serpentine Belt New HTO Autolight Spark Plugs, Gapped Accordingly to The Power Level A/C Service With Evac/Recharge After we had the service completed we had the car strapped to the Dynojet dyno and the car ripped off 721 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER on 100 octane fuel with a very safe Air / Fuel ratio (we have the dyno sheet to prove it). As mentioned above, we had the car slightly de-tuned. Currently the car produces 707 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER and 701 LB FT OF TQ AT THE REAR WHEELS on the high boost (23lbs) / 100 octane level. On a super conservative low boost (8lbs) tune 91 octane level tune the car makes 472 rear wheel horsepower and 475 lb ft of tq at the rear wheels. Any knowledgeable tuner will recognize the power builder and know that you could easily put C16 race gas in this car, add some timing, maybe a bit more boost and the car would pull 750+ REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER all day! I wouldn't be surprised if it did considerably more. Turbo Horsepower says guys are well over 800 rear wheel horsepower on this set up! So there you have it, the car has been checked out thoroughly and it has been tuned to a reasonable level to where anyone can enjoy it. All functions of the actual car where tested as well, everything operates flawlessly. Keep in mind that cars of this caliber exhibit characteristics and mannerisms associated with race cars. This is a daily driver shall you decide you get addicted to the enjoyment but lets be honest, this is a 825 horsepower high performance car designed to go fast.
