Vehicle Detail
This is a once in a lifetime chance for a one owner classic 1969 International 4x4 pickup with 13,200 + original miles. This truck is very likely the nicest original truck of its kind in existence today. Low reserve. Description: This auction is for a 1969 International 1300 4x4 Step side Pickup. It has a V-8 engine and 4 speed transmissions. It runs good, starts right up and cruises down the highway at 60 or more. The body is in excellent condition. This truck is currently set up with work boxes. They are mounted to the sides of the original step side bed. The auction includes the original rear step side fenders, steps and tailgate that can be bolted back on. The truck is a true heavy duty machine and could be considered the Hummer of its day. It is an incredible 4x4 and will take you to places you would not dream of taking most trucks. It has a heavy duty suspension. There is a second shifter to take the truck in and out of 4X4 and it has Warn hubs. It is geared high eneough that you can travel at highway speeds, but can go into low range and move real slow. We hope the buyer restores the truck as it is in such good condition but would also make a great hunting rig, construction truck, farm or service truck. The back rack lifts right out. The front and rear bumpers have been extended with expanded metal standing areas and safety railings installed. You cut out the extensions and put the bumpers back to the original locations. The exempt license plates will be removed prior to shipment. Please email with questions of for an appointment to inspect. History: This truck was purchased new by the Orondo Fire Department on December 5, 1968. It has served as a wild land fire truck since that time. It was equipped (now removed) with a pump and water tank and could fight fire on the go with someone standing in the front rack area. It has spent most of its life sitting inside the fire house waiting to respond to a fire. It is now being sold as surplus as it has been replaced with a brand new wild land truck. Condition: This is a good running truck. It started after sitting for several months (over winder) with no problem. I drove it 60 miles today at highway speeds. The Carburetor was professionally rebuilt, the master cylinder was replaced. There was brake work done and I believe, but not sure, that the wheel cylinders were rebuilding and pads replaced. You are bidding on a 1969 truck. As with any used vehicle, it could run 100,000 miles or 1 inch. There is no through rust that I am aware of. The bed bottom has minor surface rust. The back of the bed has diamond plate that was installed where the pump was mounted. I do not believe there is a rust issue beneath. There is a photo from the bottom side. Note in the photos that the frame is still painted black from the factory. Also note the size of the brakes and suspension. This is one tough truck. This is the original paint as far as I am aware. The items are defects in the truck that I am aware of. The windshield is cracked, the seat has came apart at the seam on the drivers side, the bead has came off the seat at the passenger side, the headliner is missing, there is a small dent in the bottom of the drivers door. There are oil drips on the floor beneath the truck. The spare tire has sidewall damage. The moble communications radio does not power up. If you chose to go original, you can sell the work Knapehide work boxes for a premium. We had to paint over our logo but did so lightly so I believe you can easily sand the paint and logo off with fine sand paper.
