Vehicle Detail

For your consideration is my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 white with blue bird. One of the few affordable muscle cars left. A true 70's machine. The car was originally dark blue but was repainted white early in its life. It is a drivable project. I have had the car for about 10 years in dry storage hoping to restore it eventually but no time and slow economy have made me reconsider. Someone has long removed the catalytic converter so since it would never pass the smog test here, I never licensed it. The gentleman I bought it from had it stored in the dry since he purchased it in 1991. It had already had the color change then. Body: It is a very solid car with minimal rust. Mostly the rear bumper in the back under the plastic cover and a couple small holes in the floor. It does not need floor pans just a couple small patches. The quarters and rear wheel wells where these cars normally rust is solid and rust free. Same for the trunk and rockers, fenders, hood and trunk. I cleaned and splatter painted the trunk a couple years ago. No rust in the trunk. I start it up and drive it every couple months but most of the time it just sits in the garage waiting for more free time. Still has the old school Pioneer am/fm cassette stereo and 6x9 speakers in the back. It has T Top roofs. The worst part of the car is a area around the edge of the t top where there is a small rust spot and a buckle in the metal. Not sure what caused it but there is a good photo of it. The front tires go down after a couple weeks but I get it out and drive around the block regularly in the summer. This car has the desirable WS6 package which gives it rear disc brakes, bigger sway bar and closer ratio steering box along with the 15x8 snow flake wheels. The engine is a 78 model Pontiac 400 (not the Olds 403) with automatic and limited slip rear and 4 wheels disc brakes. New Stuff:It comes with a complete set of new decals worth $3-400. I bought them when planning a restoration. I have recently put a new battery on it, new underhood insulation, new battery tray, new grills and a new plastic shifter cover which is very nice as well as the new shift handle with the red plastic bird. Changed the oil and plugs. Some new parts that I have but not installed. New $80 center cap emblems. Haven't installed them as the center caps need some work first. New ignition switch and door bushings. For some reason it ignition switch turns backwards to start. It has sagging doors which is common for these heavy doors. I bought the bushings but haven't installed them. New driver side door handle.(Just no free time to tinker with it.) Drivetrain: The car runs good after is warms up. A little ruff when it is cold but the engine seems very good and runs smooth when it warms up. It don't smoke or use oil. No weird engine noisees. If it has been sitting for 2 or 3 months you can let it warm up for 5 to 10 minutes and then it starts up immediately and runs smoothly. The transmission works and shifts great but leaks. Not sure but I think it just needs a new seal. It definitely marks its territory. Has the limited slip rear and brakes work good. They haven't been rebuilt. The limited slip makes a noise some of the time. Have been told is just needs the limited slip additive added. Interior: It is all there but worn and weathered. Seats need covering. All the interior plastic needs replacing. Most of the gauges are there and work fine. I think the clock is broke and it has an aftermarket oil pressure gauge. The dash and console are still pretty nice and restorable Steering wheel still good. Shows age of coarse but presentable. Engine turned gauge panel still nice. I recently installed a new factory style shifter to replace the old B&M rachet shifter it has before. The car has power windows but since I took out the console they aren't working. I know the motors are good but apparently I have left a wire loose. Glass: All Good cowl data tag: 7901D 2FS87L153051 24b 29L 29U W 51 CC1 U-4229665 This is a good affordable 70's muscle car. Don't waste my time and enormous ebay fee's if you are not serious. Deposit due by paypal and cash on pickup. I can work with you on times depending on what is reasonable. Deposit not returnable. Bid to win and with confidence. As you can see I have over 10 years of flawless feedback. I am am honest person and do my best to represent this car as best possible. I want you to like what you are buying. Good luck! The number on the front of the engine is 28N163113. Which as I understand is 2(pontiac) 1978 built in Norwood,Oh and the vin#. Other numbers on right side of block GM 3 D N. Right side head 6X. Date code on intake indicate J257 which I think is Oct. 25, 1977. There is also a 11 stamped near the front engine numbers and has 400 stamped on the left side of the block. Sorry for any confusion. It has been a pontiac learning experience. Note: Some of you may have seen this car listed a few weeks ago. It sold but once again to a no show / D E A D (no show) B E A T / buyer who never contacted me and I lost another $80 to ebay. You MUST have at least 25 positive feedbacks to bid otherwise I will cancel your bid unless you contact me in advance. This is a good car for a cheap price but winning the auction and not following through does no one any good. If you live in my area and want to view the car, contact me to schedule a time. 615 319 9757.
