1980 Fiat Spider 2000 Convertible My husband bought this car 5 years ago in Midland, TX for my 30th Birthday. EXTERIOR/ENGINE: He did a total exterior restoration on this car including replacing body panels, doors and new paint. He painted it similar to the original color but he put a pearl shimmer in the paint. All rust was removed and panels replaced. When he did the restoration he removed the front bumper and and modified the turn signals so that it would have a sleeker look. All of the emblems have been replaced. He rewired the car so that it does not have the wiring issues that Fiat's are famous for. He replaced the alternator and the battery. The tires are new and we painted the rims to look cool, he even found the Fiat caps for the wheels. The convertible top is new and the rear window is clear. The car runs and drives great! We have had it in several parades and everyone stops and has to tell us how cool the car is! INTERIOR: The middle console has been recaped so that it looks better. We have not had time to redo the interior so it is original. It still looks good on the inside but we wanted it to look as good as the outside. That was going to be stage two of the restoration of the car and life happened. We had kids and our priorities changed! REASON WE ARE SELLING: Now for the reason we are getting rid of my birthday present that we have worked so hard on: We are cotton farmers in West Texas in the worst drought ever! Everything is for sale at this point just to make ends meet. I am really sad about selling it but if it pays the bills then it will be worth it! Our family has really enjoyed this car for many years and we hope that it can go to another family that will love it like we have!
