Vehicle Detail

1969 1/2 Plymouth Road Runner M-Code A12 Half way through 1969 Ma Mopar realized the market was demanding faster and faster muscle cars. The adage "Win on Sunday sell on Monday" was very true, especially for followers of the local drag scene. The Hemi was too expensive for the average Joe so Ma Mopar developed a package car for the street racing scene that put 3 holley two barrels totaling 1350 CFM with an aluminum Edlebrock hi-rise manifold, placed it on a 440 with a special grind cam and the 440 six-pack was born. A total of 1412 Roadrunners got packaged this way, which also included a 410 Dana 60 rear, liftoff fiberglass hood with four pins and no hinges, special 15 x 6 steel wheels with no hubcaps (drag style), 11 inch drum brakes and the police suspension. The result was the third fastest production car of the time. It was the birth of the A12 M-code liftoff hood Roadrunner. The package did not return for 1970 but the six-pack option did. Of the 1412 A12 M-Code Roadrunners made only 227 came as a coupe (post car) automatic. This beauty is painted in the high impact K-2 Vitamin C Orange. It also has the deluxe bucket seat interior and to prove it's race heritage she came radio delete. She also now wears the very rare dealer promo discs up front. They do not spin while driving giving the illusion the front wheels are locked up. Quite the crowd pleaser at shows. This was a totally rust free car from Idaho before the restoration less than 5,000 miles ago. She carries the original fender tag, original sheet metal, and a date code correct block. The motor is a bit frisky with a 509 purple cam, headers, and TTI exhaust. Has 5 correct appearing "H" wheels made from 1969 dimpled nub cores with 6 inch rims attached and then stamped with proper markings and date codes to appear correct. The car is number 107 on the A12 Historic Registry. It is the only real M-code A12 car I know of in Alaska. Barge back haul to Seattle I believe is $1,021. Back haul via tractor trailer can generally be arranged with any trucking company that delivers to Alaska. They are usually hungry for any back haul. An A12 Roadrunner just sold at Barrett - Jackson Orange County last week for $121,000. It was NOT numbers matching although date code correct like my A12. The reserve on this auction is less than 1/3 of that price.http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application/onlinesubmission/lotdetails.aspx?ln=356.2&aid=423&pop=0 I'll be happy to discuss details of the car with serious parties. I am selling to support another hobby. Call Jim (907) 350-1859 Winning bidder is responsible for $1,500 down within 24 hrs and full payment within 7 days. On Jul-05-11 at 19:02:22 PDT, seller added the following information: SHIPPING I have gotten questions concerning the cost and difficulty of arranging safe shipping to the lower 48. There exists an enclosed transport service that travels to and from Alaska on a regular basis. They specialize in classic cars. I spoke with them today and a backhaul for the Seattle area would be about $1,600. Transport from there to New York might be in the $1,900 range. I suggest you contact them directly and speak with Karen. She can give you an exact quote to your door. Karen (541)980-5885 Karen has offered $100 off the normal transport cost for a buyer using the buy it now function on this auction.
