Vehicle Detail
I’m selling my 1977 International Harvester Scout II. It has the 304 V8 mated to a 727 automatic transmission. The Scout is in great shape and I’ve never had an issue driving it to work on the highway or just tooling around town with a 500+ lb load in the bed. Here are some key features: 2.5” lift 35x10.5 BFG Mud Terrain tires with maybe 200 miles on them. The following items are all new and recently installed: 2-Barrel Carb Radiator Alternator Brake Master Cylinder Distributor Spark Plugs and Wires JVC Stereo with Sirius Satellite Custom Front Winch Bumper w/ KC Daylighters Steering Reinforcement Bar Battery Electric Choke Auxiliary Fuse Panel I installed high-back bucket seats (leather) with 3-point harnesses attached to the roll bar for safety. The Scout starts and drives when you need it (no matter how long it’s been sitting). The floorboards are all straight and rust-free. 4x4 works great and is easy to get in to and out of. Here’s what’s wrong with it: There is no top. I only have the bikini top. It leaks a little bit. Enough that I have to drop in a quart of oil every 6 months or so and half a quart of transmission fluid once per year (I’ve actually only done this once). I also have to top off the power steering fluid every few months. The driver’s side rocker panels are rusting (not the passenger). This doesn’t appear to be structural, but more cosmetic. Theres also a rust hole in the bed about 6” long by 1” wide. Not a big deal to me, but just want to give the whole story here. The passenger rear fender well is beginning to bubble. I've removed the lower interior vents since I don't use the A/C or heat any longer. The equipment is still hooked up under the hood. The gauges don’t all work. The gas gauge recently stopped working and the ammeter was disconnected when I installed the new alternator. The speedometer, oil pressure, and temp gauges all work.
