Vehicle Detail
A true survivor / barn find. One owner, lady owned 73 Mach 1 with original bright red paint and white interior. Original drive train--351 2bl-fmx tranny with 75,508 original miles. Car runs and drives great, all guages and lights work, as do wipers, horn, radio, and seatbelt light and buzzer. Even the AC compressor works. Have original documentation including window sticker, data plate, owners manual, and other miscelaneous original literature from Ford. Even have the Ford plastic bag that paperwork came in that doubled for a trash bag and original owner's folio that lists the original maiden name and the salesman's name. Also have the original Ford keys. Car runs strong, engine does not smoke, and tranny shifts great. All glass is good, original and factory tinted. Carpet is good. Headliner is good with no rips or tears. Passenger and rear seat are good with no rips or tears. Door panels are good with no rips or tears. Visors are good with no rips or tears. Car was manufactured in August of 1972, and purchased at Jerseyville Ford in Jerseyville, IL on September 23, 1972. Original owner drove car through 1989 and then parked same under cover. Car was last licensed in 1989 and passed its last vehicle emmission test on July 6, 1988. I even have the original paperwork for this emmissions test which lists the vehicle's mileage at 72,000. The floors, frame rails, torque boxes, and trunk floor are as solid as can be. The car has its original paint except for the passenger rear quarter. I was told by the original owner that when she owned the car it sustained a minor bump and she had it repaired, but the car was not re quartered. The car has all its original sheet metal, and I believe it has the unused original spare. I have included pictures of the bad areas on the car so you can see its true condition. As best I can tell, the only things that are not original are the master cylinder, and gas tank. When I got the car, the original master cylinder was in a box in the trunk and I still have it. The original gas tank was full of nasty gas/varnish, so I pulled it out and replaced it with a new one so there would be no fuel related problems. I have the original gas tank and believe it can be boiled out and be reused if desired. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end auction early.
