Vehicle Detail
What we have pictured here is an extremely viable, but stalled Jaguar MK 2 restoration with a lot of extensive / expensive work already completed, including virtually all body work, now in primer, awaiting final blocking and paint. There is a new headliner, new windshield and door rubber, the seats and door panels have all been redone in an attractive heavy vinyl and new carpeting has been installed. There are new yellow Spax shocks on the rear and newer apparently stock black front shocks. There is also a second MK 2 sedan to be included, which is believed to also be a1961, to be used primarily for the 3.8 engine and the desirable overdrive trans. Neither of these cars has been driven, nor are either currently drivable but the engine has 9 to 1 compression and the SUs appear to have been rebuilt by the previous owner. The engine turns, but has not been started. There are many extra parts, however, please note that there is only one front grille, engine and transmission and one set of wood and dash instruments between both cars. There are a total of 12 wheels and 5 of the tires appear to have no miles on them. The plan offered here is that the restoration be completed using the more or less complete second car as a guide. Then, when finished, sell off the parts car and everything else, which includes many extra parts such as door frames and side glass, two extra rear windows, etc, etc. If you want a MK 2 project, this is a good opportunity, as these cars are coming into their own. The doors are in excellent condition without any of the common rust in the bottom corners, however they are not assembled or mounted. Some extra parts are not shown as there are only 24 pictures permitted. With too many other projects and a dire need to recover precious garage space, these cars must both go, so this will be a no-reserve auction. CT is not a title state for cars built before 1981, so there will be bills of sale on the CT DMV form, for both cars. $500 non-refundable deposit is expected within 48 hours, with the balance to be paid, within 5 days and cars to be removed within 14 days. All payment must be collected, including check clearing, if any, before any parts or cars leave the premises. Both cars roll, are currently garaged and assistance can be given in loading. Payment in Paypal, cash accepted.
