Vehicle Detail
For Sale: 1971 Toyota FJ55 Land Cruiser Wagon. I purchased this as a long term project in the spring to keep my hands busy. What you see is a remarkably intact specimen. I will no doubt have forgotten something here like the hood which I removed for the engine install, but it is here also. Body had a very few rust spots which have been ground off or cut out and replaced. The bondo you see is glazing only over slight indentations or replaced metal. The rear left quarter panel was dented but intact and I have smoothed out to the best of my personal ability. The front seat is in the attic of the barn and in good shape. The head liner needs to be replaced but that was near the bottom of my list. The drivetrain is good and functional and the driveshafts are now in the back as shown awaiting install and new u-joints. The engine is a 1973 F model 3.9 ltr from Custom Cruisers of Atlanta. The clutch, throwout and pressure plate are new and installed professionally by Heads-Up Motorsports. I have two carbs for this, one of which is the original and one from a 2F motor. Rear window glass is intact and in good shape, lift mechanism is likewise and power window motor is included. All glass is near perfect. Two original 3 speed transmissions included, one is column shift and one top loader. Original 3 speed transfer case. Dash is in good shape and cover has a couple of cracks from age. Spare tire is under truck and I have original plus a replacement fuel tank. 6 into 2 Headers mounted. There is literally too much to mention. The only parts I had yet to acquire is the radiator and the alternator. That I know of, it is all there for reassembly. The roof is sound and not dented with no rust other than surface around the edges. Since I started this project I have blown out a disk in my back which causes a great deal of discomfort. Now I am awaiting a fusion surgery in a couple of weeks and will not be able to bend, lift or crawl around under the truck for many months. So....the FJ55 has to go so I won’t be tempted. If you have an interest and are within driving range, come and take a look. Clear title in hand. BR
