Vehicle Detail
For sale- 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe. Needs complete restoration. If I read the VIN correctly, this is a 442 V8 holiday coupe, assembled in Fremont, CA, blue interior and exterior. This car came with AC, front disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, bucket seats, floor shifter and console, automatic Turbo 400 transmission and 12 bolt rear end. I rescued this car from a back yard in Texas. It had been stripped of front end parts, drivetrain, some interior, and the factory tach and guages. I have accumulated some parts for this car and will include them all. To get it rolling, I installed aftermarket tubular upper and lower control arms with new ball joints (see pictures). I have a correct floor shift steering column, a vintage black center console, period correct factory bucket seats- driver side is a power seat. The seats were outside and need everything including partial replacement frames and padding. I have a 1972 455 engine, complete from air cleaner to oil pan. It was running when removed from the donor car. The engine will include a W30 HO passenger side exhaust manifold (#402294 RH), complete with hot air box that connects to the air cleaner. The engine will be installed, but not running by auction end. I will include a driveshaft from a 1968 chevelle- it will need shortened. I have 4 correct 14"x7" steel ralley wheels with good tires, 2 of them new. The wheels will need painted. The chevy wheel pictured will be replaced by auction end. The car has a floor shifter and linkage, but no transmission. The driver side window is missing, but all other glass is good. The factory 12 bolt rear end is intact. Rear bench seat is intact. I have the inner fenders, but they are in rough shape. The front right anf left rear quarterpanels will definately need replaced. The roof rusted through under the vinyl top seams and will need patched/replaced. The trunk has some rust on the left side and will need patched/replaced. The plastic grill inserts are broken in a few places. The hood is good and the chrome louvers are intact. I have been under the car and have not seen any floorboard rust, but it may be present. The interior/exterior of this car will need complete restoration. This is a great start for someone looking to restore a real 442. Please bid to win. I require a non-refundable $500 deposit within 24 hours of auction end. The title will only be transferred once payment is received in full. Vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of auction end.
