I am the third owner of the car, having owned it since June, 1996. The odometer shows 56,880 miles which I believe to be actual. I have probably driven this car less than 5,000 miles during my ownership-having purchased a TR-8 and then a Miata. This car has been sitting and it's time for it to go. I do my best to disclose all items that I am aware of, the photos should be considered an extension of my description. Please check my ebay seller feedback. The Oklahoma tag is up to date, good until 9-30-11, photo shows 2003, just so you know there are no late fees or penalties you'll incur. The sticker will be given to the purchaser. The engine runs very good. I took a compression reading last week with the engine warm. The readings were: 1-6 141 141 140 139 141 148 The car drives fair but it's obvious that it is past time to replace the bushings in the suspension. Included in this auction are the following new parts: Poly bush kit for the shocks, front and rear A-arm bushing set poly upper & lower Sway bar poly bush kitSteering rack boot kitVent hoses for drivers front The 4 speed transmission is in good shape but has one tooth missing on the reverse gear (loose tooth removed from gearbox). This happened when the former owners sandal slipped off the clutch pedal. It's of no consequence other than it is embarrassing when around a group of Triumph people and it starts clicking when in reverse, but only in reverse. All lights are in working order with the exception of the backup lights. All gauges are in working order with the exception of the water temperature gauge. Major items: The thirty four year old convertible top needs replacing as it is shot, holes in the roof last summer and it had been shrinking on the sides, the top frame is in good condition. Needs a new carpet set. The original carpet mildewed 12 years ago, some rust was on the floor so it was wire brushed, prepped with metal ready and sealed with POR 15, the floor is solid. Needs new tires, front tires dry rotted, replaced with incorrect 15" 65 series tires. Rear tires are cracked. Rust: Right front rocker panel (see photos, outside and inside wheel well) Right rear wheel well in front of the tire, small area (see photo w/ screwdriver) Slight rust on left side between top & trunk lid, slight rust near door handle (see photos) There was a little surface rust in the battery area . It was cleaned, treated and primed about 8 years ago. There is some new surface rust that I haven't touched(see photo).Needs new paint. Previous owner had the car re-sprayed, not a very good job. Some areas where the paint is flaking off, drivers door white area is where the paint peeled off when removing packaging tape (had a plastic tarp over the holed roof) paint is checking on left rear near top. Minor items: Glove box latch not latching correctly (after re-veneering dash). It will need fiddling with or a new catch (see photos) Back up lights not coming on The interior is missing the rear view mirror and the surround that fits around the steering column, turn signal & high beam levers (see photos) Wheel trim rings have rust, you can clean with steel wool but then it's needed again in a short time (see photos) A few dings in right door, inside right door where about 1" of the soundproofing is missing shows rust (see photos) Rear bumper has two small dings on right side, left of bumper guard and has scratches (see photos) Spits near center of dash top pad (see photo) Dash dimmer switch not working (by-passed), who needs to dim already very dim dash lights The battery in the vehicle is from a Mazda Miata, it starts the car fine. The hold down for a full size battery is included. Convertible top boot needs two snaps The smog pump is still on the car but is frozen, as it was when I purchased the car 15 years ago.I found one wire that was fried (happened before I purchased the car) it's the brown yellow wire from the alternator to the light on the dash. I unwrapped the wiring harness, removed the burned wire, inspected the other wires, replaced the burned wire and re-wrapped the harness. New items in last twelve years: Moss seat cover and interior panel set. The seats had all new foam installed and new seat bottom diaphragms. The door panels had some water damage (fiberboard) so I repaired them, the right side was the worst, I had to fiberglass in the snaps that catch in the doors. The seats and door panels have a little black over spray on them, (see close-ups). Several of the lower dash pads were replaced Dash knobs above the radio were replaced The seat belts were replaced with new aftermarket belts but they still don't retract well. Sun visors were replaced about 12 years ago and they are still in good condition, but they seem to be getting a little less than firm. One rubber holder that holds the right sun visor to the window frame needs to be replaced (both should be replaced). Plastic battery box Radiator shroud Pertronix Ignitor ignition and new coil New water hoses on engine, just recently replaced the last two original green hoses New items in last year: Brake master cylinder Front rubber brake lines Window channel felt (right window winds not smoothly-likely needs channel alignment) Outside door window weatherstrips New trunk panel kit Turn signal switch/lever Drivers door closer Chrome trim around windshield Fuel tank sending unit A $500.00 non-refundable deposit must be paid within 48 hours after the auction ends by PayPal. I DID FIND 3 RUST HOLES NEAR THE MIDDLE OF THE CAR, FORWARD OF THE FRONT WHEELS. TWO SUPER SIZE PHOTOS HAVE BEEN ADDED, QUARTERS ARE PLACED NEAR THE HOLES FOR SIZE REFERENCE.
