Great old car! Was supposedly sold to the D.E.A. & with dual spot lights & I believe it as the Feds are usually the only ones that order this option. Brooking Industries bought the car from a car collector that had seen the car come across the auction block in 2003 here in Ft. Lauderdale with 50K miles & just thought it was unbelievably cool, so he bought it. Sat in his collection for a couple of years & we bought from him in I believe 2005 after we found it on E-Bay. Anyway, we fully equipped the car with lights, a light bar & full prisoner transport equipment as one of our demo cars ( became known as Darth Vader), because it was so incredibly wicked! The last few years the car has been primarily garaged in our warehouse with little use since we have been running Chargers and Tahoes as demo/show vehicles-this one was just to pristine to let go. Sunday before last we had a hail storm and Darth happened to be outside & hood, trunk roof and the drivers side upper doors and window frames were damaged & @ this age, as much as we all love it, it's just not worth fixing. The dents are from pin sized to dime, nickel and quarter dents. Prisoner transport is presently installed but have original blue vinyl rear bench seats & door panels with I believe all hardware-no guarantee + be advised that if original door panels are used, the interior rear door opening handles still will not work. This is a feature of most P-71 Interceptors. The car runs absolutely great with a dry bottom/zero leaks, a smooth shifting transmission and AC that will freeze you out of the car here in south Florida! The wooly, non supportative Crown Vic. seats were replaced back in 2007 with Maruder leather fully adjustable seats though not fully functional. The drivers seat only moves forward & backward + tilt of the whole seat bottom and back-reason being that we never bought the Marauder controllers, but instead used the old Police Interceptor controlers with two functions. Passenger seat is dead & doesn't move for the same reason. An easy fix with the exception of the air lumbar on the Marauder seat as the P-71 is not equipped to accomodate this feature. New rubber floor in I believe 2008 & is still perfect! Also comes with a Panasonic Sirus ready radio with single CD changer & the console & switch control systems stay though all have been deactivated with the removal of our lighting-push bumper stays with the car Increddibly maintained with the oil change every 3K miles & all regular maintenance. At 120K miles, we replaced the serpentine belt, all hoses, brakes shocks + tranny & rear differential fluids. Wipers & fresh oil change three weeks ago + new headlights 5 or 6K ago. Tires are correct GoodYear Eagles with 40/50% left, a spare with 70% + another Eagle that is probably 70/80% - one if not both of the spares have I think been plugged, but it's been years since I saw either. Issues other than the hail damage, the only issues are: No cover/lens over the instrument cluster-removed this when we purchased the car since it was so scratched. Driver side mirror cracked from the hail, but $5.00/10.00 salvage yard replacement from any Vic. or Grand Marquis. Overdrive works perfectly here in Florida or on flat land, but some sort of regulator or modulater has the tranny shift in an out of overdrive on hills @ between 25 & 35 miles per our & our mechanic said just take it out of overdrive in these situations rather than spend $400-$500 to fix it on an old car. No lens on the overhead pancake light, but a new SoundOff pancake light will be provided with the sale. Holes in the dash and headliner as is standard in any X police car.
