Vehicle Detail

Hereby offered for sale is a 1979 Honda CB750K 10th Anniversary Limited Edition motorcycle. This is a well-used but fundamentally sound, durable beauty. What is great about this bike:This bike handles phenomenally. It's a dream to ride. In heavy New York City traffic, I have been very pleased with its responsiveness, agility and power. This bike features a 748cc, in-line four-cylinder, four-stroke engine with a dual overhead camshaft valve train. I have kept the prior owner's aftermarket Yoshimura pipes, which sound GREAT! The brand new battery installed last September means starts are easy. For cold starts, just bring the choke out and feed a little gas and she starts right up. This is one of the 5,000 bikes manufactured for the United States to mark the 10th Anniversary of Honda's introduction of the CB750K, a revolutionary new motorcycle that merged many of the best features of a sport bike and a cruiser. This bike has a low reserve price. It is registered, inspected and ready to ride. Bike's history:I purchased this bike in July 2001 from its prior owner in upstate New York. This bike has been stored out of the elements, in a garage for the past 10 years. It was actively in use from 2001 through 2003, then again starting last year. It has been professionally maintained since I purchased it, with the most recent full service and state inspection in September 2010, shortly before I put it into winter storage. Shortcomings of the bike:This bike has been on the road for 32 years, so naturally it has acquired some quirks and character. (Actually, it's been on the road at most 26 years, since it was in storage for the six years from 2004 through 2009.)The left side of the seat is torn, as shown in the photo. (It was like this when I bought it.)There is a very small, practically imperceptible pair of dents in the headlight rim. (This one is my fault -- a result of overly zealous loading into a truck for shipping in 2010.)For improved performance, the idle level could be adjusted to slightly higher RPMs. As visible in the photos, some surfaces have lost their polished shine. This has never impacted the operations of the bike in any way.As seen in the photos, the prior owner placed electrical tape around three of the turn signal stalks. This also has never impacted the operations of the bike in any way.Terms of sale: A $250 deposit must be made through PayPal within 24 hours of the auction close. The remainder must be paid within 7 days of the auction close via PayPal, cash, money order or personal check. Payment via personal check must be deposited and confirmed prior the bike leaving the garage. Buyer will pick up the bike or arrange and pay for shipping. All bidders are welcome and encouraged to inspect the bike by appointment prior to bidding. Please ask any questions you may have before bidding, as there is no additional negotiation or inspection period after the conclusion of the auction. Buyer agrees that he or she is purchasing this vehicle in an "as is" condition. Seller reserves the right to cancel any bids from bidders with multiple negative feedbacks or less than eight positive feedbacks. If you are in this category, please contact me prior to bidding.
