Vehicle Detail

1970 Chevy Chevelle, SS w/ 454 Automatic. True SS, not a clone. This is a very fast, very fun car to drive. It was bought from the original owner as a "Father-Son" project. Due to unforeseen circumstances, car was never worked on as hoped. It has been garage kept since it was purchased from original owner in 2001. Car is in great running condition. This is a true SS with builder sheet. The identification has been researched extensively. Builder Sheet number 145110 matches the VIN of the car. The body is an L34 V8 396 body. Most everything about the body is original, and in great condition (doors w/ emblems, seats, dash, disc brakes, etc.) These items can be verified by the builder sheet. However, the motor is not original. The original owner swapped out the 396 for a more powerful 454. It has a 1973 454 Chevy engine, bored out 30 plus. Engine number reads T0314 CWL. Motor is in great running condition. As mentioned before, this car is fast. If you don't know what you are doing, it will defiantly get away from you. Original owner made slight modifications to car in order to "muscle it up." Modifications include replacing and boring the engine out, replacing steering wheel, replacing rims, and an installation of a slap stick shifter and tachometer, etc. Original miles on the motor are unknown. The odometer reads 118,000. Body is sound with one very small rust spot on each of the rear wheel wells (measuring less then 3 inches each). The undercarriage, trunk, doors, and hinges are all in wonderful condition. The hood is the original SS hood, yet it is not the original color, it has been primed to paint. Other than that, the body has no imperfections, dents, or rust. The interior dash, doors, etc are original and are in great condition. It is believed that the original owner replaced the carpets on the floorboard however this is hard to confirm. Car has the original Super Sport bench seat, which contrary to popular belief, was standard on these cars. Bucket seats were an option for the SS in 1970. This Chevelle looks and drives great as is. It definitely turns heads. We are asking well under $2,000 the recommended selling price. This car is a gem as it is a true SS and not a clone. From NADA: Low Retail Value ($17860) This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is". Please contact us at c_mahutga@yahoo.com for more details and/or pictures. Buyer is responsible for pick up/ shipping. Car is kept in Independence, Wisconsin.
