Up for auction is my 2002 BMW M3 Coupe. I am the original owner and have driven it only 31,000 miles since September, 2002. It has been in Portland, Oregon since new and we do not use road salt here, so the car is completely rust free. The body is perfect and the paint virtually perfect. Inside, there are some scratches on the right door handle which are not very noticeable. Otherwise, the interior also is virtually perfect. No one has ever smoked in this car and it has never been in an accident. The engine was run in properly and all service has been attended to on time. Although the transmission is listed as manual, it has a Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG), which can be operated manually by paddles on the steering column or automatically. The transmission was derived from Formula 1 racing technology. The car has 2 shift modes, manual and automatic. There are 5 shift speed modes in automatic and 6 in manual. There is also a "Sport" mode. In "Sport" mode the power and throttle response increase dramatically. Thus, the driver can adjust this car to be very docile, or with the push of a couple of buttons, it can be converted into something akin to a high performance race car. It has 333 HP at 7900 RPM and goes from 0 to 60 MPH in 5 seconds, with a governed top speed of about 145 MPH. At over 6000 RPM, the sound it makes is both amazing and beautiful. The brakes on the M3 are bigger than those on other 3 Series BMWs. Its stopping power is truly extraordinary. The suspension also has been tuned differently by BMW Motor Sports. Its handling on twisty roads is flat, neutral and confident. The overall ride remains firm without being jarring. The tires are in very good shape. All service records are available and all service has been done by the original dealer, Rasmussen BMW here in Portland, whose service department is extremely highly regarded. Cash in the form of a cashier's check for the full sale price is required. I can either ship the car by truck to the winning bidder or that person can come and pick it up here in Portland. In either case, all expenses required to take delivery of the car will be the responsibility of the new owner. So, if one is looking for a clean West Coast 2002 BMW M3 with extremely low miles, then take a long look at this car. One will not find a better one.
