1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible in special-order Goldenrod Yellow with a black interior, black convertible top, Rallye II wheels, and raised-white-letter Goodyear tires. The original YT code 400 cubic inch engine is fitted with the Rochester Quadra jet crab assembly, original cast iron intake manifold, original air cleaner assembly, original 62 casting heads, and original exhaust manifolds. There are no mechanical issues; no smoke, no leaks, no noises; and runs nicely on premium pump. Variable ratio power steering and huge drum brakes for easy driving. These 400s are mechanically identical to GTO drive trains but are installed in a much lighter car. Very nice black bucket seat interior with the wood grain center console and factory floor shifter. Brand new full carpet kit and brand new sill plates. Nice original seat covers front & rear, interior door panels, and dash. Factory 160 mph speedometer. Wood three-spoke steering wheel and factory AM radio. Remote driver's side mirror. Straight body with no dents, no dings, no waves. All panels are factory original. Beautiful paint in special-order Goldenrod Yellow done in modern acrylic urethane base/clear and then block sanded and buffed to a smooth shiny finish. Excellent chrome front & rear bumpers. Excellent brightwork and stainless steel trim. Excellent weather-stripping, window whiskers, and trunk molding. Excellent glass and all windows operate smoothly. Correct 400 hood with the dual scoops, 400 emblems, and a factory 8000 RPM hood tach. Very nice factory Rallye II wheels with the polished trim rings and chrome center caps fitted with raised-white-letter Goodyear radials. The trunk contains the jack assembly, convertible top boot, and has been correctly splatter painted. Runs & drives very nicely. The car is a very nice driver that will not disappoint anyone on the road or at your local show. A couple of concerns should be noted. The factory air, while all the parts are in place, does not function. The car was also born with a power top, but the motor and cylinders have been removed. The top does operate easily and efficiently in the manual mode. The reserve is priced to sell and takes these factors into account.
