This is a 1980 Ford L7000 dump truck. Vin # R70UVJA6016. This is an older State of Iowa DOT dump truck. It has about 46,000 on the odometer but it is probably 146,000. It has a diesel 3208 caterpillar. It will work all day and not use very much fuel. It does smoke a little but when first started till it warms up, it has always done that. And the power steering leaks just a little bit. It is a 5 speed with the selector so it is like a 10 speed. It has a good clutch and brakes. It has pretty good tires (at about 70-75%). It has live hydraulics (every time the motor is on the hydraulics are working) it is very nice. There are hydraulics lines that go to the front (like for a plow), lines that go to the back (like for a spreader or jack hammer) and the lines that run the dump box. The dump box is in pretty good shape, it has a new tail gate. Over all it is a good all around truck. Currently it is 30,000lb regestered but you can put it at what ever you want. The truck emepty weights 14,000 lbs. I know the box heaping full ( a good load) of dirt is about 8.5-9 tons of dirt. Questions please call me at 515-559-4879 thanks Joe.
