For Sale a 1981 Pontiac Firebird Esprit with 91,825 miles. This car runs and drives. The original engine was replaced with a Pontiac 400 V-8 4bbl. Engine runs good, does not smoke. The car has a true dual exhaust (flowmasters on the car) with chrome tips. Car sounds like a muscle car. The car is an automatic transmission, has T-Tops that do NOT leak, but all the weather stripping on the car should be replaced. Car is equipped with power windows and door locks. (drivers window motor sometimes works, sometimes does not. power locks don’t work). All gauges, lights, clock and wipers work. The radio powers on and gets static, antenna my need to be hooked up. Car is equipped A/C but That also needs to be fixed. This car is an easy project car to restore to a real beauty. This was the last year for the second generation body style. This car is a true collectors car now that Pontiac is no longer around. There is some rust on the car in the typical spot around the wheel wells. Nothing rusted through. Floors, trunk and quarters are GOOD. This is a car you can drive as you restore it. Belts need to be tighten, they squeal. Carb needs cleaning or should probably replaced. I just recently drove this car 2 and half hour away with no problems. Because of the age of the car it is being sold as-is. CAR CAN BE DRIVEN HOME. I have the car registered as a classic car with QQ tags and that means it does not need inspection in the state of NJ. This is a running easy restorable collector car. According to the 2011 Car Collector Guide, the shape this car is in right now, it is worth $5,670. Car is for sale locally on Craig's List so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
