Vehicle Detail
Hi, and thanks for looking at my auction! I have a 75' Honda CB750 for sale that has been made into cafe racer style. I custom built the fuel tank and oil tank/cowl over the winter. The fuel tank figures a vented pop up gas cap and is all new construction, expect for the original tunnel so it mounts like a stock tank. The oil tank is mounted into the back of the cowl and the cowl hides the brand new gel battery, and brand new solid state rectifier/regular, with circuit breaker and terminal strip. You can access the inside of the cowl through the front plate that is held in position by 4 quarter turn fasteners. I think the quarter turn fasteners add a cool racer feel to the bike. The seat pan is also held down by 2 spring loaded quarter turn fasteners, and can be covered or left as is. All gauges have been removed and the wiring harness is all custom as I removed all the excess wires. It is currently kick start only as I also have tried to clean up the new clubman bars. The rear shocks are brand new, and I have also made a custom license plate holder with new taillight. There is a brand joker machine oil pressure gauge mounted on the engine and joker tach cable plug. Additionally, I also have brand new progressive shocks for the front end, new heavy duty o-ring chain, new joker machine chain oiler plug, new fork seals, new carb float bowls gaskets, new head light ears, new neck bearings, and extra bar end mirror for the right side and another tail light cover that are included. The bike also has new throttle cables installed last week. It is my first attempt at building a tank and after I painted it I realized it needs a little more body work. I was going to wait until this winter and touch it up and give it a better paint job. The paint is a metallic grey rattle can that is doing the trick right now. Also, the engine does leak a little oil from the cylinders. If you replace the gaskets and cylinder studs, you should be alright. Now the The bike does run and kicks over fine, but I am currently having a issue with it. A little back story: I purchased the bike last year as a stock bike and it ran great. The previous owner told me that the motor had been bored and camed, but I cannot confirm that other then telling you it had no problem leaving my uncles stock CB750 behind every time. I rode the bike an average of 300 miles a week last summer to work and out of town without any issues. I did the body work to the bike over the winter and did not work on the motor at all. I had plans of looking at it the following winter. The problem now is that the bike will start and you can ride it, but in about a half mile it loses power and will shut down. I have trouble shooted all I can think of to no avail. I have talked to a few industry pros and I think it sounds like a fuel delivery issue, but have not had the time to investigate it farther. It may be a issue with the petcock or a air intake leak. I think it has to be something simple that I haven't tried since the bike ran so well last summer. I will try and look at it in depth this week, but I am stretched for time right now. I love this bike and have put a lot of hours into it, but I do not have time right now to work on it and need the money. This is no show bike, but it feels aggressive when your on it and I really like the cafe racer look and feel. It is a unique bike and you will not see another one like it! Thanks again for looking and please let me know if you have any questions. I will update the page if I figure out the bikes mystery.
