Vehicle Detail

Here is a Nice clean ranchero that was stored in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It was sitting in a garage and has No rust except for slight rust on surface in the bed as pictured. All rubber parts may have some dry rotting due to our dry climate, i can tell the front and rear window seals are leaking water and some of the rubber bushings under the chassis shows signs of cracking and Not falling apart. The rubber around the doors look to be OK without craking and separating or damage. The engine is a 351 and the info i have been trying to get does not say it is a windsor or a cleveland. I have read that a code of W or C at the end of the engine code denotes where it was made this has no suffix at the end. please see picture of vin at door jam. I hope a good picture of the numbers on the door jam could resolve this make of engine. The engine and tranny runs nice and smooth. I had a small problem with the carb leaking fuel out of the accelerator pump part gasket and i had replaced this part only from the rebuild kit purchased. It runs great without any problems and only foresee better performance with complete carb rebuild. Also the fuel pump could be replaced before taking a long trip. it works OK now but, when it sits for longer than 6 weeks, it takes awhile to start allowing fuel to fill the lines and carb. This was taking care of well and all 4 maintenence books are included, they look like the ones from the dealer back in the day. The A/C works but for some reason it does not blow cold air. With the system running, i can see frost developing on the lines leading the the evaporator compartment, so the system has freon and it is circulating. It may need some minor work to get this resolved as well. The body is in clean and semi striaght with some minor dents to the rear of the right quarter to the bottom rear and the bumper is a little out of alignment as pictured. The left front fender has been repainted and has some issues. I think it would have been better off with the original paint as with the rest of the car that looks lots better. It is missing a front turning signal lens. The interior has some minor issues with the bottom seat only showing some splits along the patterns in 5 places and they are as long as 7 inches and the dash has some staining due to the water leaking through the top of the windsheild. Also there is signs of cracking or minor separation that can be repaired and saved before it becomes a total loss with major cracks and or damage. The carpet and door panels are OK and a good cleaning will give a nice clean look. The windshield has no cracks and has only 2 dips or stars on the surface on the passenger side. Also to add is the radio has been replaced with a am fm cassette player type and is not factory to add is the speaker installment in the doors. I think this is all the minor flaws i can best describe and the rest of this grandpa car is a very nice addition to your collection and will be more appealing in person rather than in a couple of pictures with no surprizes that will affect the value of this Ranchero besides what i have described. This is a no reserve auction and will be sold to the highest bidder. I thank you for your time and please ask if you have any questions.
