For Sale: 1977 Mercedes-Benz 300D purchased at police auction, serial number 12313012031159. Very low mileage (65,369) on the odometer. Engine, transmission, and vinyl seats are in excellent condition. Interior is a very light beige, nearly white color. Vehicle appears to have done a great deal of setting outdoors but run very little. Purchased for the engine and transmission, but have changed mind about using them for a special antique truck project I had in mind. Engine is very tight, runs very well, likewise the transmission. The body has serious rust problems in the rocker panels, inner front fenders, front and rear quarter panels, right front door, and trunk. I would NOT recommend this car as a daily driver without extensive body repair. A/C. heater, stereo, and two windows, vacuum locking system and sun roof do not work. The front and rear seat vinyl is virtually spotless, but the door panels and roof liner are in poor condition. Is driveable for transport to new location, has been driven approx. 1,000 miles since purchased from the auction. My recommendation is that if you are looking for a low mileage engine and transmission to upgrade a high mileage car, this car would be a great donor.
