Vehicle Detail
1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7. This is the first year for the Mercury Cougar. This car has a clear Ohio Title. The odometer on the car shows a little over 82,000 miles. The previous owner told me that the mileage is correct, but had no documentation to prove it. Therefore, I cannot prove the mileage. Bid on this car and buy it as if the odometer has been replaced or turned over. This car has a nice body and lots of new upgrades and parts. The Hood, Top and Deck Lid are all straight and rust free. The Front Fenders are straight and rust free. Both Doors are straight and rust free. Both Rear Quarters are dented along the bottom side. I believe these could be straightened, but this will also require some paint work. The car has been painted before and I am not sure the Teal is the original color. I did not find any large amounts of body filler in the car. There is a small amount on the right quarter, but it is very thin. The car looks very straight. The Floors all look good. All of the Glass is good. The Vinyl Top is new and looks good. The Headliner is new and looks good. The Rear Seat looks good. The Front Seats have Black Cloth Covers on them, but are Brown Vinyl and have cracks in the Vinyl. The Steering Wheel is an aftermarket unit and it looks good. The Radio is an aftermarket unit with AM-FM and Cassette Player. The Console appears to be the original and looks pretty good. The Dash looks good. This car has Vacuum operated Folding Headlights that function well, when the car is running. They stay open, if they are turned off, after the car is turned off. Both the Front and Rear Bumpers are good, look straight, but are fading and showing their age, just a little. The car is missing a small piece of chrome, by the Right Rear Window and the "Cougar" Script from the Trunk and both Quarters. The Cougar has a vintage set of Keystone Classic Wheels. The tires are wider on the rear. The car has a new Gas Tank. The Cougar has a 289 and a FMX Automatic three speed Transmission. I believe the transmission was originally a C-4, but was replaced with the FMX. I cannot remember if the previous owner told me that the FMX was new or if it had been rebuilt. The Radiator is new. The 289 has been rebuilt and has new Valve Covers, New Edlebrock Carburetor and new Polished Aluminum Intake. It also has an aftermarket Electronic Ignition System that looks like a Chevrolet HEI. The Exhaust System is new, all the way to the rear bumper. It may have some other new parts that I forgot to mention. The point is that there has been a lot of money spent on this car and it shows! The Car starts easily and runs well. It sounds good and shifts through the gears without issue. The Brakes are up and this car can be driven and enjoyed, without any real work. If you want to fly in and drive this car home, you definitely can. I can also assist with delivery, for a fee, within a few hundred miles of Canton, Ohio. This car has a nice look and will be a fun to drive and show. With a little cosmetic attention, it would be awesome. I am posting good pictures that show the true condition of the car. I will try to answer any questions through email. This car is listed with a very low start price and sells without reserve to the highest bidder.
