You are bidding on a very rare 1962 Austin Healey Sprite in turn-key exc. running and driving condition that has the factory 948cc four cylinder motor in it. This is a very rare Sprite model with the new Sprite body style but was one of the early production changeovers with unique features of no outside door handles (has factory inside door pulls). It has the very cool removable conv.top feature that stows the bows and top in the trunk. Later models had a fold down top that was an eyesore just sitting there once it was put down. This Sprite is very well sorted and runs strong and starts up easily and can be driven with confidence. If you are a serious AH collector then look no further you have found a rarely seen treasure to have, hold and love. The Details; This 1962 Sprite has a straight rock solid body, trunk and undercarriage. It was repainted about 15 years ago and the car has always been kept in heated garage since. The paint still looks very nice for its age and can be local shown driven and enjoyed. The undercarriage, trunk and floors are rock solid. The chrome, trim, emblems, grill are in great shape, glass (windshield is original) chrome AH hubcaps, original side curtains are complete and in nice overall shape. The interior is excellent, seats were redone, carpets were replaced, door inserts are nice, dash is exc. with original gauges intact. It has the original steering wheel, gauges, and correct AH details. Original radio is included dash was not modified to install new cd radio. The Convertible top which stores in the trunk when down is nice condition, original painted top bows are very nice. Included is the original rare factory manuals. Sprites are just a blast to drive, they handle like a dream and with the wind in your hair and top down open road British motoring at its best. The Mechanicals; The heart of this Austin Healey is its strong running factory 948cc engine #9CGDH35739 that runs strong starts easily and has lots of low end torque (small puff of smoke upon starting clears right out). It has been converted to electronic ignition elec. Distributor (orig. points distributor included) spin off oil filter converted for ease of oil changes (spin off unit included) carbs were cleaned and gas filter added, new tie rods and brake pads installed, new rear wheel cylinders, new speedo cable, tach is working but has no cable presently in it, gauges are all original and work, new powder coated original steel wheels, with correct AH chrome hubcaps, original bumpers are in great shape never redone, original grill is exc.,new radial tires all around, correct original spare with original jack in the trunk. Included in the sale are all the original parts and some spares as well. The car runs and drives excellent and can be used and enjoyed on a daily basis, it has been very well sorted and wants to be driven.
