Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for your consideration is this 1979 Pontiac Firebird, Trans-am clone. This means that it has a lot of Trans-am modifications (upgrades) such as Trans-am suspension, four wheel disk brakes, posi track rear-end gears (3:08) , dashboard, body moldings and, steering wheel. Basically all Trans-am parts but without the shaker hood. We have a shaker hood for it and we are willing to include it in the sale however the core supports on the extra hood are rotted, skin is good. The hood mounted on the car included is in good shape. There is a second set of rims for the vehicle. Odometer shows 71,000 miles. Did we mention T-tops!!!!! This car belonged to a mechanic here at our garage. This was a project that he had started but has since developed a rare brain disease in January which has incapacitated him yet to this day. His mother asked us to get it finished and sell it. When we got it there was no engine, no transmission, no exhaust and no front bumper. We found a fresh LOW MILAGE Chevrolet 305 V-8 and 4-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle has new brakes complete rotors and pads all the way around, new brake lines and new fuel lines. Front wheel bearing are new as well. Four new tires mounted on 15x8 snowflake rims. Front tires 235-60R15, rear tires 275-60r15. We are including a second set of Gold Edition Trans-am rims, they are 15x7 front and 15x10 rear. As of the engine we installed a remanufactured Holley 650 double pumper carburetor sitting on a new Edelbrock performance series intake manifold. There is an Accel billet aluminum distributor with Accel 8.5mm plug wires. We replaced the stock valve covers with Edelbrock chrome valve covers and breathers. The exhaust headers are ceramic long tube headers. The dual exhaust is completely new but only clamped so you can install you own custom pipes and mufflers if you choose. The mufflers are Dynamax. They produce a hearty growl on accelleration but arent too loud. We installed billet aluminum overdrive pulleys with a high output alternator. New dual racing timing chains. All gaskets and seals were replaced with Felpro brand gaskets and seals. We installed a new 14 inch electric radiator fan, wiring and relay. The gas tank is new and it has a high performance Holley electric fuel pump. The drive shaft is custom made and has new universal joints. Shifter is a Hurst ratchet shifter. The motor mounts are Jegs Solid mounts. This vehicle is mechanically sound and ready to drive. The only thing the car needs is minor body work and a paint job. There is no major rusting, no holes. Only a few dings and scratches here and there. Floor boards are solid, trunk floor and quarter welds are all sound with no rotting. Engine compartment is absolutely clean. There is evidence of some body work (filler) but we dont know the extent of it. Speed gear for speedometer is of the wrong ratio so the speedometer is not correct. The interior is in good overall shape however there is a tear in the passenger side and small tear in drivers seat (see photos). We believe that the seats are from a Camero but they look good. All floor covering carpets are new. It has a a Pioneer stereo with Rockford Fosgate 8 inch subs and an amplifier in the trunk. The rear bumper has a crack in the plastic, the drivers side mirror is missing the glass. Headlight bezels are included but not installed. The shocks pictured with the spare rims will be installed before the sale. We are traveling from upper Michigan to Louisiana on June 16 and we can trailer the car to any state within reason on our route. If we deliver you will be responsible for the cost of the trailer rental and a reasonable fuel charge if you are too far off of our route. States that we can deliver to will include but not limited to Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Louisiana. It is rust free for the most part. The pic of the front door bottom shows minor surface rusting. The underbody is CLEAN!!!! This car has been stored in a climate controlled storage facility for more than 10 years. The owner had intended to do a full restoration and this chassis was carefully picked for this project. We forgot to mention a small but repairable crack in the dashboard above the grab handle on the passenger side, there is NO chunks or pieces missing. This really is a fantastic car.
