Vehicle Detail

1969 Jeepster Commando I am selling my 1969 Jeepster Commando that has been in my family for 30 years. This is your chance to own a jeep that not everyone else has unlike all the CJ's running around. I have really enjoyed this jeep while I have had it and I have taken in in the mud, trail riding and rock crawling. I think it is a great running and great for offroading jeep. This jeep has 130,369 miles which is pretty low for an 1969 jeep. I started restoring this jeep three years ago and I first had the jeep sandblasted then I had the body work done on it. The jeep comes has a brand new bestop on it. Also comes with a bestop bikini top. Jeep has new floorpans. The jeep has the original 225 buick v6 and gm turbo 400 automatic transmission. The turbo 400 is not like the later jeep quadratrac transmission and it shifts great and is bulletproof. The 225 buick v6 is in good running condition. The motor has hedman headers, an Hei distributor, 350 cfm holley 2bbl carb, and Msd street fire wires. Also has a new fuel pump. The motor has 35 psi oil pressure at idle which is excellent for a v6. The oddfire 225 v6 has a cool and unique sound to it. The jeep has new thrush mufflers on it. The axles are dana 44 rear and a dana 27 front axle. The axles have 373 gear ratios and both are open differentials. The front axle has warn auto locking hubs. The brakes have been redone all the way around and are 4 wheel drum brakes, stainless steel braided brake lines. The jeep has a 6 inch spring over axle lift that has been done right, no blocks. The tires are 36 inch super swampers with half tread and 15 inch american racing sawblade mags. The springs have also been re-arched. The jeep has new shocks on it and spring perches. The steering has been redone on the jeep and the bell crank has been dropped to lower the steering back to the factory design and a new pan-hard bar has been added. The jeep has a new custom one piece front driveshaft and the 4x4 works great. The jeep has a dana 20 transfer case that works great. The jeep has a brand new 12,500 lb winch. It has a Carr light bar with 4 off road lights. The jeep has had the inside of the tub herculined, The jeep has a 6 point roll cage that has been done right. Has tenzo r racing seats that have 4 point harnesses. The racing seats do have some tears in them but are overall in good shape. The paint on the jeep is a year old and is 1968 gm red. The paint has a few minor flaws but hey its a jeep and its built for the offroad. The jeep handles great for having such agressive tires and is easy to drive. I also have some inspection records and the owners manual for the jeep. I have started the auction at 5000 dollars and you cant build this jeep for even close to that. Here is just an idea of what I have invested in the jeep. 6 inch lift- 1200 New Bestop Tigertop- 750 New brakes- 450 Roll cage- 900 Bodywork- 700 Paint- 1200 12,500 lb winch- 800 Light bar- 200 Lights- 150 Front bumper- 200 Racing seats- 350 Bedliner- 300 Holley carb- 250 Headers- 225 Hei distributor- 150 36 inch super swampers- 1000 american racing wheels- 350 This all adds up to 9,175 dollars, this does not include the original price of the jeep. I probably have more than that in this jeep. This jeep is not perfect but it is a good looking off road machine. The only rust places in the body are the door frames and underneath the diamond plate rocker guards. Underneath the rocker guards the rockers have had por 15 put on them so they wont rust anymore. The gas guage does not work, tailgate is fixed in place, and transmission has a slow leak and could use a new seal . But the jeep runs and drives great as is. Here are two youtube videos of the jeep running and driving. Running video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_HRrt_N3DA Driving video- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=apOExteQvWg The audio on the videos are not great because my camera does not have a good microphone and the exaust is loud. The underside of the jeep is just dirty, the frame is completly solid throughout.
