Vehicle Detail

This is a 1957 Chevrolet 210 2 door sedan straight axle gasser ready to piss off a new set of neighbors. The motor is a mid 70's high compression 4 bolt main 350 cid with a set of double hump/fuelie heads,Vintage Edelbrock cross ram intake with dual Edelbrock 4 barrel carbs and Hooker Super Competition fenderwell headers. It has an MSD ignition with an MSD 6AL ignition box. There is a newly installed chrome alternator and I installed a new aluminim oil pan with a one piece Felpro pan gasket. New Eelco carb linkage, new aluminum water pump, new valve cover gaskets, new thermostat, new alternator belt. The tranny is a Borg Warner World Class T5, which I was told has a new clutch. The rear is a Ford 9" posi unit, and there is an upper shock mount welded to the frame. The battery, which is brand new, and fuel cell are mounted in the trunk. The tires are all brand new, the fronts are Positracs while the rears are Firestone cheater slicks. The rear rims are a vintage set of chrome reverse steel Ford rims, while the front rims are brand new Torq-Thrusts. Disc brakes up front with stock drums in the rear. There's also an adjustable proportioning valve installed beneath the dash which essentially locks out the rear brakes. The car comes with an extra set of rear tires which are an old set of MH racemasters mounted on a set of Cragar 5 spoke rims with knockoffs. When I got the car it had a 46" Speedway axle which I felt was too narrow, so I removed it and had a new 50" axle made specifically for this car. The axle itself is a work of art and had I determined to keep the car, I would've had it chromed- it's that nice. There are new US made aluminum tie rod and drag link installed. New kingpins as well. The front frame rails are original, so there's no concern about someones potentially lousy clip job. There are an old set of ladder bars mounted to the rear axle. The interior is simple with a stock rear seat, and 65 Mustang buckets in great shape up front. There are door panels, carpeting and headliner installed. All the gauges work including speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and temperature, and the car has working lights with front and rear turn signals. I installed a new headlight switch, and new taillight lenses. The car also has working horns. Could be street legal depending on your states requirements. The body is in fair shape with original floors as seen in photos. There are some old patches along the edge of the floor where they meet the rockers, and the rockers themselves have been amateurly patched. If interested in restoring the bottom end, it would need new inner and outer rockers along with floor brace sections, but the car is drivable as is or can be restored while driving it. The doors and trunklid seem to be in very good shape. The flip nose is steel, but easy to tilt. I have a stock rust free 57 hood that can go with the car if the new owner would like to have it. I'm very realistic about the value of the car, and reserve is very modest. If you're able, I would encouraged you to come look it over. Email me with your number if you'd like to come see it, and I'll call you back so we can set something up. Unfortunately though, please understand that any appointment will most likely be in the evening as I'm always tied up with work. While I'm not looking for trades, you can feel free to make a trade offer. I will be adding pics and info as time allows while the auction progresses so please check back often. Feel free to ask questions. Thanks for looking! Please click on the link below to see video of the car. I hope to add more photos and videos tomorrow http://s473.photobucket.com/albums/rr94/petersen43/?action=view¤t=179_7913.mp4 On May-30-11 at 05:37:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Please note that I just threw a number in for the mileage, actual mileage of the body is unknown. The motor was built by a guy in Delaware in '06, and the aftermarket SW speedometer/odometer shows 09757. I assume the motor has less than 10k miles on it. It runs great, no smoke, plenty of power and no leaksOn May-30-11 at 16:47:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Took some more pics and have several more videos. I created a folder entitled '57 Chevy' for the videos which can be found at this link, just click below. http://s473.photobucket.com/albums/rr94/petersen43/57%20Chevy/ Forgot to mention there is an exhaust leak on the left side between the header and the head. For those who don't know, it's very easy to replace this gasket. Also, for whatever reason, the rear windows don't roll down. Thanks to all for the interest so far!
