Here for sale is a 1980 Nissan 280ZX. I'm helping a friend part ways with his baby, he says he needed help putting it on eBay - I think he just can't bear to sell it himself :-) This car is a beautiful example of an original, well maintained machine. It has a clean exterior with all original paint. Aside from few minor dings and some minor rust bubbles (detailed pictures in listing), the exterior is in great condition and the paint really shines. The original OEM wheels and tires are in good straight condition, but there is some slight flaking of the surface finish on the wheels in some areas. Despite this, the wheels and the original OEM tires are in good conditions and have many miles left. No rust in fenders or underbody. I'd give the exterior a rating of 8.0/10. Mechanically the car is very tight. Engine comes to life easily and holds a healthy idle. Good MPG, good power. Car pulls through the gears with smoothly and builds RPMs easily. Transmission smoothly pulls the shifter into gears, with no grinds or slack. Clutch engages crisply and there are no signs of clutch slip under any type of acceleration. No clunks, taps, or clicks in this drive line. You can really feel the car stretch out its legs on the highway. Suspension is in good condition as well, there is no clunking or excessive suspension sag under acceleration. Doors open and close easily, hood and latch work well. It may need new struts on the rear hatch, but I never found it to be a big deal. I'd give it an easy 8.5/10. On the interior, the interior trim and seating is all in very good condition. The car spent much of its life garaged, so any sun damage is minimal (some slight discoloration) despite living its life in California and Florida. Surprisingly cold A/C and plenty toasty heat in the car as well. The A/C switch sometimes wants to go full blast despite the setting, but this is just a faulty switch and can be swapped out from another car - plus switching it on and off fixes the problem. Hey, the car is old enough to run for U.S. Senate, what are you expecting? All of the lights and switches on the interior work. Only non-stock part on the interior is a Panasonic headunit with cassette, MP3 CD and Aux Input. This isn't a flashy unit and doesn't detract from the aesthetic of the interior. Power windows go up and down quickly with no hesitation and power mirrors work flawlessly. The carpet over the dash is to cover a crack that runs down the middle of the dash, I can provide pictures under the cover but many 280ZX owners would attest to this being a widespread problem. The cover does a nice clean job of cleaning up the look of the interior. I'd give the interior an easy 9.0/10. There is a sizable stack of maintenance records that come with the car. The car has received its timely share of fluid changes, belt changes, mechanical replacements and has consequently proven itself with a reliable history. Older, male just the second owner of the vehicle. The original manual is still in the glovebox with the names of the original owners written on the cover. Really is a nice car and gets the looks of a classic worth much more. Reserve is set low and the car should sell. Buyer responsible for arranging pickup of the vehicle.
