Starting with its split-winged grille, the MKT shows off its pending arrival from up to a mile away. We like the fascia in principle, but think it would look better if scaled down to a smaller size overall. The vehicle features what Lincoln designers call a" beveled chamfer" that we would just call a shoulder. It adds a distinctive character line, and such detail ties it in with Lincolns from the past. A cantrail frames the side glass with a "hey look at me" blinginess to it. Following along to the rear is a sculpted liftgate that features a taillight assembly that spans the entire surface area. This leads up to sloping glass which some say compromises third row head room, but we weren't back there enough to really notice it. Finally, a rear spoiler adds backlight speed to the overall appearance. No doubt the MKT has some interesting details and ideas!
