ABOUT THIS FIAT SPIDER 2000: The auto check report speaks for itself. Perfect example of one of the few Low Mileage Fiat Spider 2000s remaining that appear to becoming more scarce and consistently being more sought after. Fantastic, great collectors item here is the Desirable late Model 2000 Restored California Car with fuel injection for high performance when you want it. Considerable Improvements and Options! Low Mileage: - 2.0 Litre (1995 cc) Twin Overhead Cam Engine5-Speed, Fully Synchronized Transmission - Independent Suspension - Front Anti Sway Bar - Power Assisted 4-Wheel Disc Brakes - New Michelin steel belted radial tires - Tan Convertible Top and Boot - Front Bucket Seats - Adjustable Head Rests - Electronic Tachometer - Water Temperature, Oil Pressure & Voltmeter Gauges - Padded 3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel - 2 Speed Electronic Washer/Wipers - Vent Windows - Day/Night Rear View Mirror. The Fiat Spider has had three owners in California as documented on the recent Car Fax report. During the previous 5 years the Spider has only accumulated 6,000~ miles and has been used as an occasional, weekend car. The Car Fax report also documents the car as being totally free from accident damage, salvage, theft, odometer rollback structural damage or other negative history. In fact, as a result of its "clean history", Car Fax gives this particular Fiat a rating of "Worth more than average based on report results." Additionally, within the previous 500 miles, the car passed California's strict new dynamometer smog test with no problem with test results that were considerably better than the maximum allowable measurement. In addition to the original equipment listed above, this particular Fiat has had the benefit of numerous cosmetic upgrades yet it remains in 100% stock mechanical condition. The Fiat benefited from a complete re-paint including the door jambs, trunk area and underside of hood. The paint is very high gloss with no peeling or fading. Consistent with a car that has received a quality, professional re-paint; the car's exterior has the appearance of a much later model Fiat. The Fiat's body is excellent and free from the significant scratches & door dings generally seen on a car of this vintage. While the paint is not show quality and shows normal signs of regular use, the car attracts considerable attention and comments relative to its overall cosmetic condition. There is no major accident damage on the car and, in fact, it is free from any significant dents, scratches or flaws. The Fiat has a color coordinated tan convertible top that has the appearance of being virtually new. It has a clear rear window and no signs of rips, tears or damage. The convertible top on the Fiat Spider can be raised and lowered with one hand, in just seconds. Also included with the Fiat is a rear convertible top "boot" cover that covers the convertible top when it is in the down position. This boot was custom made when the interior was hand crafted by a custom upholstery shop and matches the beautiful interior, dash and door panels. An inspection of the body (including the undercarriage), reveals that the car is free from rust through and damage to the frame and undercarriage. The body is free from signs of rust on the typical rust prone areas of the Fiat, as a result of its time in California. An inspection of the rocker panels, rear lower fenders, under hood area, spare tire "well", and undercarriage reveals a dry, clean and rust free car (please refer to the detailed photos). This is extremely important on the older Fiat's as many of the cars in rust prone areas Regions of the country suffer from considerable rust in both the chassis and bodies. The doors, hood, and trunk line up very well, with even gaps, and close easily and securely. The underside of the hood is very clean and free of dirt, oil and grease, and was repainted during the re-paint of the car. The exterior trim on the Fiat is in very good condition and the trim is bright and free from any signs of rust or pitting. The front factory bumper has been removed and replaced by very attractive front "bumperettes" that enhance the appearance of the front of the Fiat. The entire front bumper assembly goes with the car and could easily be re-installed if the cars new owner has an interest in a more stock appearance / configuration. The rear stock bumper remains in place and is in very good condition. Also included with the Fiat is the same "kit" to remove the bumper and install the small bumperettes on the back of the car. All of the plastic trim and other exterior moldings are free from damage and in excellent condition. The side windows are free from cracks and damage, and operate perfectly. The windows roll up and down and seal well. The front windshield is free from any cracks, stars or damage and the chrome surrounding it is also very good. The interior has benefited from considerable but very attractive improvements. The seats, dash and door panels were upgraded using beautiful tan leather. Not only were the front seats recovered in this material, the dash and door panels receive the same high quality material. It is important to note that the stock seats and dash were used but the interior was disassembled for the custom upholstery to achieve a very high quality, custom appearance. The factory door panels received the benefit from a slightly different pattern (versus stock) but the stock door and window hardware was retained. The carpet is stock and is a lovely shade of light beige / tan and is covered by a very high quality (expensive) set of carpeted, custom floor mats with "Fiat" embroidered on each side. The rear seats are in very good condition and there is a rear seat belt in the back along with the stock, 3-point shoulder harnesses / belts in front. The shift knob and emergency brake handle have also received the benefit of wood trim. The steering wheel is a fantastic, polished spoke, leather Momo wheel. There are also custom enclosures built for the front speakers (along with a trunk mounted amplifier) in the forward foot wells. A nice touch. Finally, the upgraded AM/FM/CD is a high quality Alpine "anti theft" (faceplate rolls out of sight when car is turned off) unit that was professionally installed. The combination of upgrades makes for an absolutely brilliant interior. The dash is finished in rich material with stitching on the leading edges. There are no cracks on the dash or upper parts of the door panels as is often times the case with the classic Fiat Spider's. Also, the lower dash pad (knee pad) is free from damage and cracks. The retracting seat belts are original, free of any fraying or damage, as are the receiving parts of the seat belt units. The door sills and door jambs are clean and free from dirt and grease. The car has an upgraded radio and speaker set-up and a hidden amplifier (shown in the trunk photos). The lights, gauges, and entire electrical system are 100% functional including the high end Alpine AM/FM/CD unit. The trunk too has received several upgrades consistent with the interior of the car. Specifically, the trunk has custom panels to accommodate the JL amplifier and enclosures for 2 8" JL speakers. It is well done, not obtrusive, and the panels also cover and provide protection for the spare tire, well and jack on the right side of the car. The trunk and trunk "well" are totally free from any rust, signs of leakage, or damage (refer to photos). It is extremely tidy (please refer to additional photos on listing). The Fiat runs and drives extremely well. The care that this car has received becomes apparent with one glance under the hood. The engine bay is very tidy with no signs of excessive oil or leaking. The undercarriage shows well and is free from damage and rust. There is, of course, the normal road "patina" The Fiat has been inspected, and found to be very strong mechanically including major components such as engine and transmission, rear end, and brakes. It also passed the California safety inspection and smog within the past few weeks and fewer than 1,000 miles. The car has the appearance of being well maintained for its entire life. The engine is very strong and does not smoke, leak, or exhibit any problems. The Fiat idles smoothly at just below 1000 rpm, and does not hesitate, have any unusual noises or issues. It runs cool and has excellent power. The transmission is excellent and all of the syncromesh gears function perfectly. There is no noise in the driveline and the clutch engages properly, and without slippage, chattering or fuss. The brakes work great and stop the car straight and sure. The emergency brake is functional and correctly adjusted. Some specifics relative to the mechanical condition of the Fiat include: - Recent clean Car Fax report - Timing belt being replaced at major tune-up (60K) - New front & rear brakes - - New Master Cylinder - New exhaust - New upper and lower front bushings - Suspension upgraded with blue springs (front & rear) - Recent tune-up - Fresh service (oil, filter, lube, etc.). The car starts immediately when warm or cold. The engine is very strong and does not smoke, leak, or exhibit any problems. The transmission is excellent and all of the syncromesh gears function perfectly. This car will not dissappoint the fussy buyer.
