1993 Ford Mustang SSP Texas Department of Public Safety This is real 1993 TX DPS SSP Mustang. This car has been restored and used as a show car for several years. If you attended the MCA Nationals in 2010 at Asheville, NC you may have seen this car there. Below is a description of this great car. If you have any questions as a serious buyer please call, email, or text me at the number below. Exterior: The exterior was repainted several years ago and still looks great. I believe cars are built to be driven, so she has been on the road for each and every car show she has attended. That being said you may find a small chip here or there, but nothing that takes away from her beauty. The decals on the car are hard marked and will need to be covered when driving on the street. The tires are in great shape and included is a matching tire for the full size SSP spare. The glass is in good shape with no chips or cracks, but does have a few light scratches in the quarter windows from when tint was removed. The rear quarter window trim has been refurbished and looks very nice. Interior: The interior is the original black, which is rare for SSP's. The front seats were rebuilt and wrapped in new material. The rear seat is original and matches the front perfect. The carpet and floor mats are in great shape. The headliner and sun visors look great as well. The plastics and door panels are in very nice shape and look great. Other than a few in service holes in the console the interior looks like new. The original factory Ford AM/FM radio is in working order as are the power mirrors. Like most SSP's she has crank windows and manual locks. Mechanical: Once I returned from Asheville, NC I had the transmission rebuilt. The rebuild included upgrading the internals with steel. Also installed is a Steeda Tri Ax shifter and a Steeda adjustable clutch cable. A new correct 2.25 inch Dynomax exhaust was recently installed as well. The engine runs fine and has no unusual noises or leaks. The car runs cool and the converted AC will freeze you out. I would jump in and drive this car to California today. The suspension has been replaced and this car rides like a 20k mile fox body not a 159k one. Emergency Equipment: When this car was restored it was done to resemble a 1990 TX DPS SSP slick top for ease of civilian driving. (I have included a photo of a 1990 TX DPS SSP Mustang for reference.) The 1993 TX DPS SSP's had a Jetsonic light bar and arrow stick. I have the correct light bar that I will offer to the winning bidder for $400. All the lights pictured below work, including headlight flashers. However per eBay rules they will be disconnected. The radar does power up, but is not set to clock other vehicles. The radio is for display only and is not hooked up. (I have no idea if it would work if wired correctly.) **Remember this is a show car and not an everyday driver. This car to us is perfect in that we can drive her and show her. If you are looking for concourse this is not your car. But if you want a very nice restored SSP driver this is the car for you. We have took this car on a lap around the Indianapolis Speedway and several shows along the east coast and always receive compliments. With show season just around the corner this could be a great collector car for you to start showing! To answer the question before it comes up, "Why are we selling?" We hate to sell this car as finding one just as nice for this price would be almost impossible to do. But we are a family with several young children and it seems are long distance car shows are coming to an end. We also have big changes in our careers and it is not right to let this car sit in the garage forever. She needs to be enjoyed by the public and represent the SSP hobby. With that said until the car is sold we will take her to local shows so the mileage may increase some. The winner of this car will need to send a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end via Paypal. The car must be paid for in full within 7 days or I will relist her and file an unpaid claim with ebay. Payment will be accepted as cash or certified bank check. However if paying with a check I will not release the car or title until it has cleared my bank. I can hold the vehicle for as long as needed once paid in full for $30 a month.
