Vehicle Detail
This listing is for a friend of mine. He is an over the road truck driver and asked me to list this for him. I have been in the street rod business for 15 years and have my own shop and aided in the building of this truck and can answer any and all questions. If you would like to be in contact with him, I can get you his number. First off, here is a 1951 Chevy Truck. It is currently titled and registered in the state of Iowa as such. It had about 1000 miles on it and had been “finished” for about 2 months until this fall when he tore it apart to paint the body and finish the bodywork. At that time, I took the engine and tore it down for an overhaul. It can be placed on a run stand for the winning bidder so there will be mechanical confidence. Engine: 350 Chevy Edelbrock Manifold Rebuilt Q Jet Carb GM Serpentine Belt System New Water Pump New Summit Camshaft (.442/.420 lift) New Oil Pump New Timing Chain New Lifters, Pushrods, Roller Tip Rockers New Valve Springs, Locks, and Retainers New Umbrella Seals New High Torque Mini Starter New Chrome Valve Covers and Oil Pan HEI Distributor and Accel Cap, Rotor & Coil New Plugs and Plug Wires Dual Exhaust with custom, NASCAR inspired tips K & N Air Cleaner Engine starts and runs like a champ. IIt was taken down to a short block where the Rods and Mains were re-torqued to proper specs and re-assembled with what you see above. It also has a remote oil filter setup. This engine has 70# of oil pressure at startup and over 40# at operating temp at an idle. His bill from me was almost $1000.00 for parts alone. Obviously that is taken care of, however, it just shows the commitment he had to this truck before the house project came his way. Transmission: Chevy S-10 5-Speed Hydraulic Clutch New Clutch Disc Bronze Pilot Bearing Frame: Chevrolet S-10 Frame 2” Drop Spindles Speedway Motors Aluminum Radiator Polished Stainless Overflow Bottle Original Gas Tank Boiled and Sealed. S-10 Power Brakes and Master Cylinder 4 wheel Disc Brakes Front with new rotors and pads Rear with new calipers and pads 15” Steel Wheels and 225/75-15 Tires and Dog Dish Hubcaps Body: New Glass on all windows except ¼ windows. They are near perfect but not new. Complete Painless Wiring System ’55 Chevy Taillights Electric Wipers Comes with 2 sets of Doors!!! 1 set is very nice as seen in the pictures. Truck box has the S-10 bottom so it will be easier to finish or actually use as a truck. Either way, you win. Body had $1000.00 + in media blasting work done, then was professionally sealed with DP90 Epoxy Primer. That is as far as the body work got. He is building a new house and needs to liquidate some of his “rolling” stock. He is a very motivated seller, this isn't the typical ad of someone "showing off" what they have with a crazy-high price. Interior: Bucket Seats Dolphin Gauges. (Have Mechanical Speedometer but not hooked up) 5” Tach Brand New Painless Wiring Harness All in all, I think this is a fantastic deal for someone who wants an older Chevy truck to take to NSRA and GoodGuys events. Truck to be picked up within 30 days from time of purchase. $500.00 non-refundable deposit due via Paypal at auction end. Any questions, call me. Vern 563-542-3137 I have since added a picture of the engine and what the truck looked like prior to the teardown so you may see the stance, etc.
