1973 Honda CL

1973 Honda CL 450 motorcyle. This bike is licensed, titled, insured and ridden regularly. It is equipped with both electric and kick start. I have owned the bike for approximately 4 yrs. Recently replaced items include a new battery, air filters and starter clutch. This has kinda been my spare vintage bike when company is down for bike week and other events. It is blue (not original) with no visible dents in tank. Tank has some internal visable surface rust, but does not leak. I have the original sidecovers to go with it as well. It will start right up, runs and drives great with no bad noises or smoke, charging system works, all electric and lighting works good down to the small speedo indicator lights. Original high pipes, but they have had repair work at ends. Pipes were not rusty or rotten, but rather someone had hack sawed the end silencers off in an attempt to make it louder I suppose. Ends with silencers were matched to size and length and re-welded on. Tires are good, but old. Only issue with this machine known is an idle problem (sometimes too low, sometimes too high). This was a common issue with these early CV type carburetors. I have had the carbs off of it several times in an attempt to correct it without success. All replaceable carburetor internal have been replaced. Boots do not leak, ignition has had points replaced and is in time, Valves adjusted to manufacturers spec. It is a minor but irratating issue. Seat is original and in good shape with one very small tear. These old Honda CL/CB 450's are getting harder to come by in any decent shape. They look cool and run well.
