Vehicle Detail

I bought this truck in 2004 and took it all apart to fix it up. the following is what was done: New 350 motor out of the crate, rebuilt automatic transmission, new driveline and ujoints, new brakes, new brake cylinders, new master cylinder, new wheels and tires. Power steering added, new steering column and steering wheel, new rag joints. New alternator, battery, water pump, plugs, wires etc., starter, hoses, belts, electric radiator fan, new starter, new edelbrock carb, high rise manifold added, new wiring harness, lights etc. New flowmaster exhaust All new hardware, chrome, body parts, etc, etc from catalog. The body was taken apart and sandblasted to bare metal, (except the cab as it was ok) any rust (there was only a little) was cut out and new metal welded in and new body parts from catalog such as rocker panels, door bottoms and skins, floors, etc. All fasteners were replaced by stainless steel fasteners as truck was put back together. Truck was sanded and received a primer coat, painted with Corvette torch red and clear coat. Bed was rhinolined and aluminum diamond step plate was added for bed and inside the front bed and tailgate to protect the vehicle if anything was hauled in the bed. the bed doesn't have the traditional polished wood bed, but was altered so as to be usable rather than just showy. I also had custom aluminum bed rail and tailgate rail protectors made to match the diamond step plate. New carpet from catalog, Hurst automatic racing shifter added on floor, New upholstered seat, new visors etc. Basically, the truck is just about brand new as of 18,000 miles ago. I drive it to work and back 2 times a week, so I know it runs well. Things which still need to be done are as follows: The odometer stopped working a few months ago and the speedometer doesn't accurately register the speed. the fuel gage also doesn't work, so I would advise that the buyer buy a new dash readout from the catalog (about $500.00) whcih would fix all of these gauge problems. For some reason the horn on the steering colum doesn't work, so I direct wired it to a button on the dash. The electric radiator fan doesn't come on automatically, so I direct wired it also with a toggle switch on the dash. Even on hot summer days the temp gauge doesn't even reach the halfway point unless idling for quite a while. when the temp goes up to the mid point, I just hit the toggle switch to run the fan until the truck is moving again. Once moving the fan is never needed, the engine runs cool. someone with knowhow could fix this so that the fan runs automatically. All the mechanical work was done by a good mechanic I know, all of the body work and paint was done by a body shop. I took the truck apart and put it back together and installed the wiring harness (that is the limit of my automotive expertise). This took a year and a half, as we worked on it as we were able. The truck has been on the road since mid 2007. The truck is kept in a garage and whenever I drive it, I put the custom truck cover over the truck to protect the paint. the cover is included. The truck has passed safety inspection each year since being put back on the road.
