Vehicle Detail

Please note that I am selling this car on behalf of my brother; I really know very little about this car. If you have questions, I will relay them to him ASAP, but there may be some amount of delay in response. Here is his description of the car: All these items are FRESH - less than 2000 miles old: Paint Custom-built 455 motor – strong! Front disc brakes Updated power steering Modern AM/FM/Cassette stereo and speakers Rain tires (which have never seen rain) Exhaust system I bought this car in 1990 with 105,000 miles on it. It now has approximately 121,000 miles - less than 1000 miles per year since I’ve owned it; mostly shows, with a few joy rides. This car has been garaged and pampered! It has been painted twice in that time, including having all the body panels removed, taken down to the metal, replaced and then the car was painted. The color is 1998 Ford Taurus Red. The convertible top has been replaced, but unfortunately, there are two small tears in the fabric, however they DO NOT leak into the car. There is also a “clunking” noise that occurs while the top is lowered, but the mechanism works fine. Unfortunately, the top itself is pretty nasty and won’t clean up, but it is watertight and gets the job done. Features: I replaced the Rocket 350 engine with an Oldsmobile 455, which was assembled from the bare block up, with a mild cam, a 500 cfm carburetor and performance intake. I never raced this car – I just built it to the specs that I wanted! It has a four core radiator, high torque starter, and dual exhaust. The steering box was updated to provide a quicker steering ratio. There are disc brakes on the front end. I put on rain tires a couple of years (less than 1000 miles) ago - ironically, they have never seen rain… I replaced the radio with a modern AM-FM stereo and put speakers in the rear seat - it sounds great! I added the “vented” hood and the rear bumper with the cutouts (like the 442) to the car. The original bench seat was replaced with Pontiac buckets and a console before I owned it, but I like it so much I’ve kept it this way. I have the original “Rocket 350” motor, the original hood, and the original Oldsmobile radio, and a replacement steering wheel, as well as the dress rings for the rims. I also have a tach, tilt steering wheel and floor shifter set up… and everything goes with the car. To the best of my knowledge, it has never been involved in an accident. Flaws: The windshield washer bottle is toast. I have a line on a replacement if you are interested. Some rust on the driver’s side frame rail was professionally repaired about two years ago. It is certainly not “showroom condition” but this car runs beautifully - ready to drive anywhere, anytime, without fail. But my priorities have changed… I am having so much fun riding my Goldwing these days, I figure after more than 20 years it’s time to see my beloved Olds go to someone who will use it and enjoy it! Logistics: Bids from users with feedback lower than 10 are not welcome. A non-refundable PayPal deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours after auction close. The balance of the sales price is to be paid ONLY by certified cashier’s check, bank transfer or cash within SEVEN DAYS or the deposit will be forfeited. I have the title and will sign it over immediately upon receipt of proper payment. Winning bidder is responsible for all aspects and costs of transportation, though I will certainly try to help and will drive it anywhere within a 50 mile radius (i.e. roughly a triangle between Boston, MA, Worcester, MA and Providence, RI). This car is sold “as-is” and offered without any warranty. I certainly encourage you to ask any questions and/or come and inspect the car before bidding!
