Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a Honda RC51(a.k.a. RVT1000R). I purchased this bike as a track bike but never got to take it on the track. I couldn't stand to see it just sit, and the title was clear, so I put lights on it, registered it, and rode it. The paint is starting to yellow. Some stickers or paint would really make it pop. "If you are a good rider it will prove & exploit your skill to the world, if you are mediocre it will kick you in the teeth & laugh at you. It is purpose built for strafing curves, serious commuters or tourers need not apply. It can light a fire in your soul that is not fueled by adrenaline, but by passion & when you ride it nothing else matters except it, you & making the next turn." RC51.org This is a list of upgrades/aftermarket components: -Full Yoshi exhaust-dinged and scraped up(the bike has low-sided). Race pipes are held together with springs, so they flex, which gives the added benefit of being able to take some abuse. -Large volume airbox(injector bodies are inside the airbox-instead of the airbox sitting on top of them). -Power Commander IIIr mapped for pipes and airbox by previous owner. -Quick-shifter(allows for up-shifting under power without using the clutch). -Sprint steering damper. -Penske adjustable rear shock(with extra springs). -The previous owner claimed to have the forks reworked by Traxxion Dynamics-there are stickers present, but I don't know how to confirm it. -Forks have new oil, seals and wipers. -Vortex clips and rearsets. -CRG clutch lever. -Brembo front brake master cylinder. -Steel brake lines. -Vortex gas cap. -The ignition key is only used as a steering lock. The bike can always be turned on. The switch has a "safety pin" to prevent it from being accidentally turned on. -The shift pattern can be easily changed from "GP" to standard. Let me know how you want it and I'll set it that way. -The valve quieting gears have been removed-this lowers the rotating mass of the valve train and slightly increases horsepower and throttle response. This also causes alot of engine noise-some say it sounds like a Ducati, some say the engine sounds like it's going to come apart. I think it sounds like music. -The radiators are custom made forward facing radiators. I purchased the bike without a fan on the radiators. I added a small fan. The bike cannot handle city traffic jams. The fan I added is better than none at all, but the bike is made to move(if it's running). Occasional red lights are fine. I could cruise around Daytona Beach during bike week-just no "Main Street shuffle". -The body is a race body that was cut out for a headlight. There is the headlight mount section from a stock fairing mounted inside the fiberglass. The lights are activated by a switch under the tail on the left. -The tail lights and brake lights are LED's. The brake lights are activated by a pressure switch on the rear master cylinder.(in the video I hit the brake lights-not very gracefully). -The battery is undersized and the battery tray and undertail is all custom. Please ask questions-I may not have addressed everyone's concerns. This is a serious bike-not for beginners.
