You are viewing an auction for a blue 2002 Mazda Protege5 with approximately 110,000 miles. I purchased it as a Mazda Certified car in the fall of 2005 from Crystal Mazda in Greenbrook, NJ. I still enjoy driving this car and really do not want to part with it, but I need to replace it with something slightly bigger. It has been garage-kept every day since I bought it, and has been babied to an extreme degree. It has some minor dings and scratches on it as would be expected on any 9 year-old car, but you will not find another car of this age and miles in this condition. I have detailed records of everything I have done to the car since purchase. The oil has been changed every 3000 miles, and all maintenance is current. The timing belt (along with tensioner, water pump, and pulley) was changed about 20k miles ago. There are no oil leaks or other mechanical problems that I am aware of. It has performed flawlessly since I acquired it. You will not be disappointed! The head unit has an iPod interface in the glove box that displays song info on the LCD display. This allows you to control your iPod without it being seen. Overall, it is in very good condition for a nearly 9-year old car. The Carfax report (available upon request) shows that it was in an accident back in November 2005 when I had the car less than a month. Someone pulled out in front of me on my way to work. I hit the brakes, but could not avoid hitting him. Damage was isolated to the right front, and not nearly hard enough to deploy the airbags. The car was drivable, but was leaking fluid, so they had it flat-bedded to the body shop. The fluid turned out to be washer fluid. Anyway, the car was repaired to a high standard and there has been no structural damage or any lingering problems. The fact that I kept the car since that time attests to that fact. Otherwise, the paint is in very good shape and the interior is immaculate. There is no rust on the body at all, other than some minor pitting on the inside-bottom of the hatch. I was told by my body shop that it can be fixed for around $250. The lambskin cover on the front driver’s seat has never been removed, so the upholstery is near perfect. It has always been kept very clean, and gets washed and waxed regularly. The pictures speak for themselves. Condition This car looks and drives extremely well, and is in very good shape! It has never been abused. I will honestly disclose any and all information on its condition, and can send additional pictures via e-mail if desired. Inspection Pre-buyer inspections are welcome. However, it may be driven/inspected by appointment only. Buyer agrees to pay for all inspection fees/charges that may apply. Payment A non-refundable $500.00 USD deposit is required within 48 hours of auction end via bank wire or cashier’s check. Final details of remaining payment will be worked out through email/phone contact. Shipping The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs, although local pickup is preferred.
