Vehicle Detail
I bought this car in July 1999 when it still had delivery mileage on it. The car was built in May 1997. The original owner had bought it but never collected it from the dealer so it sat in the warehouse for over 2 years before it was then re-sold to me. I am effectively its only owner. I have loved this car. It has been serviced every 3,000 miles by the Chrysler main dealer in Manhattan or in Milford PA. Although it is registered in New York (because I live in New York) the car lives in Pennsylvania where it is garaged. It ceased being my main car in November 2007 when I bought a 2008 Town & Country so it hasn't been serviced as often since then (because it does very little mileage) but it had a major ($1600) service in July 2010 and has done less than 100 miles since then. It is presently parked at the Chrysler dealership in Milford PA as it has just had a new dashboard circuit board fitted. The winner of this auction will pick it up from Milford Chrysler as that is the easiest place for me to meet you and deliver the car - getting into the gated community where it lives is more trouble than its worth. The car cannot be shipped to anywhere else (unless you are prepared to do all the work) and I am not able to deliver it to anywhere else. I also cannot get out there to offer you a full pre-purchase inspection or test drive and nor will anyone at Milford Chrysler be able to show you the car but you can certainly go and take a look at it there if you wish as it is parked alongside the dealership. The car has some nice extras. It comes with a complete extra set of factory wheels (exactly the same as the ones that are on the car in the pictures). The car is pictured on its winter snow tires but comes with a full set of all weather Michelin tires on the other set of rims. Having two sets of rims makes winter preparation easy! The car also comes with a set of (unused) snow chains. The car has a built in radar detector with front and rear detection and laser deflector. The warning is a audible bleep (with volume control) and flashing LEDs built into the speedometer and the rear view mirror (shown in one of the photographs). I can't remember the make of detector but it is a well known one and was professionally installed in Manhattan. Also professionally installed in Manhattan was the XM satellite radio (with CD) and the roof mounted DVD player. At the same time I had them fit a 110v outlet and input jacks for video games (shown in the photograph). Finally, the car comes with a rear hitch, installed when the car was new by Chrysler in Manhattan and - installed by me - European rear light clusters (so that it has orange rear indicators rather than the difficult to see red ones). The original US rear light clusters (brand new) come with the car. The car comes with a full service record detailing all work that has ever been done on it including a complete new transmission about 1500 miles ago. The spare tire has never been used. This is a much loved car. It is low mileage for its age, and has been incredibly well looked after. The interior is in good shape (even though my kids went from being babies to teenagers in it) and the exterior is in good shape too. You can see in the photographs a blemish on the front passenger door. That happened just before I took the pictures. I nudged the car against a wooden post and the marks shown are the wood scrape. I meant to polish it out before taking the photographs but forgot to do so. Anyway the paint is not damaged and the trim and panel is not dented so by the time the winner sees the car it won't show at all. This is a wonderful family car. Good acceleration and great winter driver with its All Wheel Drive. I am very sad to see it go but I now have the new minivan plus another car so something has to move on. I need to be clear on one thing though. Although this is a wonderful car and everything is in working order right now, it is 14 years since it left the Chrysler factory. Things will go wrong with it as they will with any car as it ages. I am selling it entirely "as is". I don't guarantee anything other than that the car is exactly as I have described it above and as it appears in the photographs. It is a completely honest and genuine car, but I am anxious to ensure that whoever buys it recognizes that it is not a new car and doesn't turn round a give me negative feedback if something doesn't work the way it should. I have a 100% feedback record over the past 10 years because I am honest. But I can't guarantee a car of this vintage so please don't bid for it unless you are able to work with and look after such a vehicle and understand that it is not a new car.
