Vehicle Detail

Hi, I am selling this original 1978 Z28 which I purchased from the original owner here in Las Vegas(The original owner bought it from a local Fletcher Jones Chevrolet Dealership). Besides the replaced carburetor this is a front to back numbers matching vehicle - notice the original tires! It was shipped to "Sin City" directly from the, now forgotten, Camaro assembly plant in Van Nuys, CA. I am including the window sticker and some other original documents from 1978. As expected on an unrestored vehicle you will see normal wear and tear but what you won't find is any unnecessary after market parts. This vehicle is very near to becoming a beautiful numbers matching show car. The motor runs and the car drives just fine but cold starts require a bit of persuasion. I took loads of pictures and even included a video so take a look and feel confident because I am a straight shooter. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, just give me a call at: (702) 326-1051 I will not be able to answer emails on weekdays until 7pm Pacific Time. I AM PUTTING NO RESERVE PRICE ON THIS CAMARO - HAPPY BIDDING! Payment Options: I only accept Bank Wires or Cash in person Deposit: A $1,000.00 Cash or Bank Wire deposit is required 24hrs after auction ends Shipping: Shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility but I can easily make arrangements with a reliable shipper if so desired Here is a video of the Z28 running and driving: Here is some information from a helpful website: 1978 Camaro Spotters Guide & New FeaturesAfter 4 years of the extruded aluminum bumpers, an all new body color urethane front & rear fascia was finally added to the car. Intended to debut in 1976, production delays held up the restyle until this year. Now hidden behind the sleek new nose was the impact absorbing crash structure able to withstand greater than 5MPH impacts. The rear tail lights were redesigned as well, now incorparating 3-color lenses on either side of the fuel door in the center. The license plate was relocated to a molded in section of the rear bumper. The Camaro wasn't just continuing to blow the competition away on the street, but it paste'ed the rival Mustang in the showroom again, outselling theFord 247,437 to 179,039. There was no competition. Removable smoke glass t-tops (CC1) were now available. The Type LT and Rally Sport were back, with the RS a separate model as opposed to a RPO. Z28 sales were going up, up & away... The only things slowing down were the cars themselves with the higher gear ratios (except in the Z28). This was in the effort to improve fuel economy. Other things that were improved in 1978 included....Rally Sport offered as a Camaro Model, not RPO.305 gets a 4 speed manual as standardnon-corroding nylon brake pressure switch replaces steel switchlower control arm bracing to improve chassis stiffness.redesigned rear spring shackles improve stabilitybrake line charcoal filterZ28 gets decorative hood scoop and functional fender ventsManual transmissions not available in California.Fenders redesigned to mate with new fasciaRemovable glass tops (CC1) debutNew color-Keyed Aluminum Wheels (YJ8) Using this vin decoder from the same website you can clearly see this Camaro came from the factory with a 350 cubic inch V8: VIN: 1Q87L8L548188 First digit is GM Division: 1 = Chevrolet Second digit is model: Q = Sport Coupe, Rally Sport, and Z28, S = Type LT Digits 3 & 4 are body type: 87 = 2dr. coupe Fifth digit is engine code: D = 250ci, L = 350ci, U = 305ci Sixth digit is model year: 8 = 1978 Seventh digit is N for Norwood assembly, L for Van Nuys. Last six digits increased one with each car built at each plant. Information on the once great Camaro & Firebird Factory in Van Nuys, CA: Van Nuys Assembly was a General Motors automobile factory in Van Nuys, California. Opened as a Chevrolet plant in 1947, Van Nuys produced the Chevrolet Corvair, Chevrolet Nova, Chevrolet Camaro, and Pontiac Firebird. The plant was closed in 1992 when Camaro/Firebird production was moved to Sainte-Thérèse Assembly in Quebec. The site was razed in 1998. A retail and industrial complex, known as The Plant, resulted on the 68-acre (280,000 m2) site, as well as Station 81 of the Los Angeles Fire Department. The retail portion totals 365,000 square feet (33,900 m2) and is home to 35 retail stores and restaurants. A 16-screen movie theatre honors the site history with an automotive theme décor. GM continues to operate a car-testing facility on 27 acres (110,000 m2) next to The Plant. Here is a television advertisement from 1978 for the Z28 Camaro:
