I have a ‘76 XJ12L Series II that I am selling for a friend. I would consider it a very complete parts car in need of complete and total restoration. He got it in 2006 and it was running and driving about 2 years ago when he got a job as a cruise ship musician and so it sat. Now he can't find the key after a recent kitchen remodel and his neighbors said it had to go. Some surface rust outside, but the worst thing I see is the drivers floor is completely "Fred Flintstone"-gone between the seat and the firewall (the rear seems solid). The rest of the car is not too bad. I don't see water leaks after hard rain lately. No wiring cut, interior is good except the woodgrain is cracking in places. Complete and unmolested as far as I can tell except floor mats and carpet are gone. Clean title. Never wrecked as far as I can tell. Fuel pump is in pieces in the boot where he tried to start it about a year ago and realized it wasn’t working. Now he can’t find the key. Selling as-is, where-is with no guarantees of any kind. Possible transportation in the Southeast available for extra cost (about $1 a mile in both directions), but check with me first and make arrangements if you are considering this-I may not want to go to your location. Please do not be offended by this. If you want it, come get it or make arrangements to have it picked up. Terms-cash at pickup in Chattanooga, TN. MUST BE GONE by June 3! If you cannot abide by these terms, please don't bid. If this does not sell whole, I will be selling for scrap before June 3, which would be a shame because it really is a nice car except for the floor. I can take more photos of specific items on request. This is a classic 5.3L 12 cylinder Jag, with many nice parts, don’t let this one go to the crusher. No reserve-bid to buy. Basically buy this for a bit more than scrap value. Just a little more info on condition: I put a battery in it and the headlights will come on and taillights. If you turn on the flashers, they flash in back but not the front. The courtesy lights inside come on with the switch. Without the key, that's about all I can tell electrically. The a/c compressor is not locked up and the system has pressure. There is no water in the oil. The transmission fluid is red and does not smell burnt. If you have any more questions, please ask.
