Vehicle Detail
1970 Donahue Javelin 360 cubic inch motor with Automatic transmission, dark-green exterior paint with black leather interior. This is a rare barn find that I stumbled across years ago, but never got around to restoring. I did however, have the carb rebuilt, flushed the fuel system, replaced the brake master, rear wheel cylinders, rear rubber brake hose that goes from the chassis to the differential, and replaced the trans pan gasket and trans oil. I got the car running, driving and stopping. This is a wonderful restoration project for someone looking for such, and the car is very stock including the ram-air tub and parts. The car is very solid and free of rust and rot, but there are some dings and dents on the car, the worst being the front fenders, and passenger door. The lower radiator support is mangled either from a tow-hook or something else. The upper support is solid, as are the frame rails and surrounding sheet-metal. The floor boards, trunk pan, rear valence and other parts of the car are very nice. As you can see the paint is toast and I brushed naval jelly over the car to keep any rust from forming on the car where the paint wore through and is why the car has that white stuff over it. This Javelin is nicely optioned with Air Conditioning (inop), clock, power steering, disc brakes, and tilt steering column with rim blow steering wheel. I do have a set of very clean front fenders, passenger door, and window glass. I will offer these parts to the winning bidder before listing them on Ebay. Doug Galvin at Galvin's AMC here in Lodi, CA has many reproduction parts including brake and center reverse len's, emblems, trim, seals, lower radiator supports, and many other parts to help in restoring this great car. I am getting out of the hobby and selling off my collection of AMC cars and parts. Please ask if you have any questions, check my feedback, and check my other auctions for some Great AMC cars and parts. Thanks and Happy Bidding! On May-16-11 at 10:06:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Due to some questions I have received, It is clear to me that some people are not reading the questions posted on the bottom of the auction page. The production date of this car is October 1969. The general consensus of many AMC'ers is that the Donohue Javelins were built after this. Some say they started production in December of 1969 until March of 1970. Here are some links of where I found this information: http://www.planethoustonamx.com/stuff/mark_donohue_javelin.htm http://donohueregistry.homestead.com/page4.html TO MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR, this MAY NOT be a Donohue Javelin. It is However, a very clean and solid "Barn Find" 360 Automatic, Go-Pack SST, Roof-Spoiler optioned Javelin. I am not here to deceive anyone, nor am I an expert on 1970 AMC Javelins, and I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank You
