5 Day Auction At No Reserve - Sold To The Highest Bidder! This is a factory 1956 Oldsmobile 88 2 door post restomod. Factory 324 Rocket V8 with Jetaway Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Purchased new by Tom Meyers who resided in Fremont California had kept Olds original most of it's life up untill he got ill & sold it to recent owner in 2004, Who live's in upscale section of Orange County,Ca in Anahiem Hills. New owner having no exspense spared wanted to give Olds a Original / Restomod look. Leaving the valuable component's original looking while mixing in his own custom built look as well, Including adding 4 Wheel Disc Brakes. Oldsmobile originally was Charcoal Grey, Was repainted in a Black & White 2 tone color combonation that shows off nicely & was done correctly including door jambs & inner door jambs. Undercarriage is in nice & clean shape including Floors & frame structure, As also the rest of the body is in good solid shape as well. Quarters, trunk, jambs,rocker panels & bottom of doors are all clean as well. Chrome & trim is good & complete, Grill is in nice shape. Front & back bumpers does have some minor chips & show some flaw. All glass is complete & in good shape. Interior is complete & shows off very well. Original seats were redone with white vinyl with grey cloth inserts giving it a nice custom look, Headliner is a grey cloth & in good shape. Olds is a rare radio delete car, Dash is original & not cut up & in nice shape. Steering wheel is original & in good shape as well. New owner kept all the important interior component original while still giving it a nice custom look mixing both which shows great for this Olds. Now on to the drivetrain, Under the hood Olds is stock & original looking. Still has the factory 324 Rocket V8 with Jetaway Hydra-Matic automatic trans. Still has the Rochester 4 Jet carburetor, Also has a MSD ignition,. Has a new set of 15 inch wheels on Olds, New owner installed 4 wheel disc brake conversion onto Olds which was done at ABS American Brake & Steering shop in Orange County California. Have close to $2,000 in reciepts with ABS of them having done work onto Oldsmobile. Oldsmobile does runs & drives but does have a knock in the engine which will eventually need to be rebuilt. But everything else mechanically is great, Olds starts, runs & drive's, Olds dosent smoke nor overheat's, Hydra-Matic trans shifts smoothly & 4 wheel disc brakes stop on a dime. All lights & gauges work as well. Remember before knocking noise came this was his weekend cruiser also he would take it to local car show's as well, Mechainically there was no issues, This was his driver. Olds has a Clear California Title & also come's with a original owners manual, Shop manual, Older registration, Reciept's, part's catolog as well as extra part's including original set of hubcaps & Ect. _________________________ Conclusion & Terms _______________________ Overall, This Olds with some engine work would make a nice driver for someone. Please keep in mind this is not a show car but a older restoration & a driver condition showing some flaws. Although Oldsmobile does run's & drive's, I would reccomend having it towed.
