I got this truck just a few months ago...I knew the owner for many years ...he had past away and his son sold off all of his belongings...so I bought it... To say the least I have very little knowledge about these trucks... .The FJ has a 1972 1F engine....I'm sure of that as I recall the thing going in around 1996. It has a 3 speed on the floor. 4x4 , The carb needs to be rebuilt . The rebuild kit is around $25 on ebay or u can just replace it if u like...This model has a unique tail gate that is a fold up style with 2 swinging barn doors that was only around for a few yrs...I believe just on the 63/64 FJ's the body is solid....I've learned from another FJ forum that the 1963/64 used a treated metal and is not prone to rusting like the 1965 thru 1982. The hinges and hardware are solid with minimal or NO RUST..the color is a repaint from the 90's and its starting to chip and peel in various spots but all in all its not bad...the original color was a pale off white... the color is now a dark green. And int is blk ....interior was reupholstered and is in brand new condition ConFerr rear bench seat with tool box bottom..very collectible and expensivetoo,.... has roll bars too...and it can go "topless too" as it has the removable hard top with the fiberglass dome(needs a headliner). HOWEVER this is a 1964 and it drives well like a 1964. for instance it has drum brakes all around , no power steering or ac.....but it is very original all in all....in the past 7 yrs this FJ has been driven around 200 miles.....it was sitting for 3 yrs before i bought it... in jan 2011 i drove it around 120 miles all on the highway at around 50 mph....ran O.K when i drove it ....but like i said its a 1964 and it drives like a 1964....
