1958 CHEVY DELRAY 2DR RESTORATION PROJECT OR RAT ROD This car is being relisted because the first winning bidder DID NOT PAY! Please do not bid unless you are a serious buyer.! I've owned this 1958 Chevy Delray for almost 20 years. I've had it stored with plans for restoration. The body has the original paint but had been repainted years ago and the repaint has mostly peeled off. I've not done any rust repair on the body, however, the floor pans (front and rear) and the trunk pan had some rust, so those areas were cut out and new replacement metal was welded in. The fuel tank was removed because it was defective. The bolts and brackets are in place for a new fuel tank to be mounted. The body has some rust over both rear wheel openings, the lower bottom of the front fenders, and over the headlights. The inside of the hood and trunk lid also have some minor rust. The body has some scratches and dents and the right hand door might need to be reskined to make it perfect. The frame looks really good as does the front and rear suspension. The drive train is complete, and the motor (#F227C); I have been told is the correct original 283 cu. in. with 3-speed transmission. The air cleaner and distributor were stolen while stored. I have the generator which was disassembled. All the glass is in good condition (no cracks), but has some smoked areas around the edges. The windshield has some rock chips. All windows roll correctly and the doors and trunk operate and lock correctly. The seats have had the old upholstery and pads removed to prepare for new covers. The seat frames and springs are usable but only in fair condition. All the molding and chrome including the bumpers are in place but are only in fair condition. I have a clear title for this car. Shipping is available at $1.50 per mile one way, continental US, paid in advance. Please do not bid unless you are a serious buyer. I accept cash, cashiers check, or money orders for final payment. Paypal for deposit only. SPECIAL NOTE: Several years ago I purchased a 348 cu.in. engine for this car, (#T3I04), date code 0-8-58 GM part #3751872 and planned to rebuild and install when I restored this car. During the time it was stored the intake and cylinder heads were stolen. I have only the short block which needs machine work (boring one or more sleeves, etc). I will sell it separately for $500. First opportunity would go to the buyer of this car. THE ENGINE IS NOT INCLUDED IN PURCHASE OF THE CAR BUT AS AN ADDITIONAL OPTION.
