Rust free and garaged for at least the past 30 years. I have owned this car for seven years and it has received nothing but TLC. Included with the sale is the ORIGINAL Ford Invoice (see photo) showing the sale to a dealer in Clovis, California. As set forth on the original Invoice: Serial # P5FH232222 Thunderbird Hard Top COL R---“Color Red” PAW—“Positive Action Wipers” FOM—“Fordomatic Transmission” Engine Dress Up Kit FAH---“Fresh Air Heater” TI—“Turn Indicators” WC—“Full Wheel Covers” FS—“Fender Skirts” The car has the original 292 ci V8 engine. Manual Steering, manual brakes and 6 Volt—as original from the factory The data plate shows that the car came from the factory with “Torch Red” paint with a red and white interior.Actual mileage of this car is unknown. Over the years, a prior owner redid the entire interior in black. It would be a relatively simple process to return the car to the original red and white interior. Upgrades I have done to the car: AM/FM Radio—fully modern reproduction Front and rear sway bars for improved handling Reconditioned generator New voltage regulator New shocks New aluminized mufflers and exhaust system—check out the photos of the undercarriage) Everything works (except for the clock)—including the heater, power seat, wipers (vacuum is a little weak), turn signals, speedometer, lights, tach, fuel gauge. Other cool extras—The license plates are original from 1955—they were added to the car in 2009 under California’s YOM (year of manufacture) program allowing old original plates to be attached to vintage cars. Also check out the vintage lucite suicide/spinner knob on the steering wheel. And the vintage AAA license topper on the front license plate. Sale will also include a hardtop glider (See photo) essential when storing the hard top; a very nice car cover; some framed old Thunderbird Ads (See photos); and a bunch of recent Early Bird magazines published by CTCI. This is not a Show car—but it is a California original car that is in great shape. The paint is decent but there are flaws and some scratches, most notably caused when removing the hardtop. Also, these cars tend to overheat in the summer, especially in stop and go traffic---I installed an electric fan in front of the radiator which has helped a lot.
