Up for auction is a very solid 1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 Originally from CA until 2 months ago, has been in CA since new and still had Black Plates until transported to the East Coast, does not have any panel replacement or patches, only minor bubbling on the passenger side rear quarter maybe 2 inches in diameter, very solid overall. Has the Original 351W with only 79,000 on the odometer and was told this was Original, runs great and was just recently tuned up with new wires also. The Engine could use cleaning up but the fender aprons are very nice. The interior is still Original Black leather so could use new covers/carpet, headliner was replaced last year, dash pad is cracked, all trim is OK for driver, the paint is also fine for a driver with a few areas that will need touching up including spot on the roof (see picture), great father/son project needing very little work for a very nice driver. Has the FMX Auto transmission which shifts great with no known issues, all glass is good, the undercarriage is very solid, the nicest by far that I have seen, do not think you will find a more solid undercarriage (see pictures), perfect frame rails/floor pans and torque boxes, the trunk pans have very little rust around drain holes like most have, previous owner liked the 70 model and had converted the front nose to a 1970, but could very easily be converted back to a 69 nose if desired and know of one available, would make a nice 69/70 Eliminator clone, any questions please ask before bidding, only serious bidders please, a $500 Non-Refundable deposit is due at auctions end through paypal, balance in cashiers check in a week to 10 days will be fine, Good luck bidding!!
